Summary: We all know what Ronon does to spend some extra time with Jenn. What does she do to spend time with him? Hoping this will be a series. For Intentions Day 2018.

Jenn walked into the Mess looking for a friendly face. Well, one friendly face in particular. At first glance, he wasn't there. Bummer.

It was a perfectly miserable day outside. The kind her mom used to make soup and homemade bread for dinner. Well, that decided what to have for lunch. She went over to the soup kettles for a sniff. Lo and behold it was broccoli cheddar soup. It even smelled like her Mom's. Jenn spared a thought wondering if it was Wisconsin cheddar or something more locally sourced.

By the time she got back to the dining area, Ronon had found a spot toward the balcony. Jenn couldn't help the little grin. Even something as simple as eating lunch looked hot on him. "Mind some company?" He gestured to the seat across from him in acceptance.

"Before you complain, Doc, I really did go easy on the new Marines. You'd think they'd have to go through some training by Teal'c before they send them here, but…" he trailed off in resigned disdain.

"Not at all worried about it. My staff is used to your style of training the newbies." She slowly stirred her soup before taking the first bite. She was wallowing in the memories of childhood with just the smell of it. "What was the food like on Sateda?"

Ronon blinked at the non-sequitur. "Hot?"

Okay, so that really was an odd question to throw at him. Food is food. There are limited methods of preparation and infinite variety. "What is a favorite meal your Mom made?" Jenn took a swallow of the soup and closed her eyes in a moment of sincere enjoyment.

Ronon sat back in his seat and looked off in the distance. "My grandfather started teaching me to track and hunt when I was four. The whole family camped at different places every couple of months. I got a rabbit – close enough, but larger. Oma put it on a spit and roasted it. We had wild salad and some brown bread baked on the coals."

"That sounds amazing." Jenn wondered what it would be like camping with family. She'd always been a little afraid of her shadow. Really, it was a wonder Teyla hadn't dropped her down that ravine all those months ago. Her parents sheltered her so much – their little genius.

Which was part of why she was here in Atlantis. She wanted – no, needed – to test her mettle.

"What brought on that question?" Ronon asked as he plowed through his lunch.

"I've been thinking of my mom recently. She was a great cook." Jenn let her smile spread remembering being able to try out her new recipes before anyone else. "She died before she could teach me to do more than boil water."

"Makes sense. I learned how to make camp food, make do with a bit of this and chunk of that." Ronon scraped his spoon along the bottom of his bowl.

Jenn's eyes widened as an idea dawned on her. "You're like Mikey!"

"Who?"

"A commercial from Earth. Mikey was a boy who would eat anything and he'd let the other kids know if he liked it or not."

"Oookay," Jenn could tell he still didn't know what that might have to do with him.

"I send for Mom's cookbooks. See if I can learn to make the stuff. You tell me if it's any good or not." Jenn nodded as if that would somehow sell the idea to him.

"I'm game. What did you want to start with?"

A/N: Ok, so what does Jenn try and fix first? Reviews are absolutely wonderful!
