Many, many years ago; before great cities and towns had been created, or even thought of, there was a family. This family had been looked upon favorably by God for many generations; they had wealth and prosperity, good food, homes, land to look after and own, and the family itself was large and full of bright, beautiful people. The people living under and working for the family praised their generosity and kindness, and they told others of the family's great love, affection and loyalty to one another. They were people God was proud to look down on.
But over the years, everything changed. The family began to grow lazy and arrogant with the wealth that God gave them and started look down on all those around them, where once the servants of the family had spoken with pride of their masters, they now spoke only in fear or disgust. The family demanded more of those who worked their land; they spent their money on foolish items, drink and women. But truly the worst of the family's new behavior was their treatment toward each other.
Before the family had looked at each other kindly, they had treated each member with love, respect and honor. As the family got bigger so did their bond seem to grow; every man, woman and child in the family however distant the relation was remembered and honored by the others. There truly were few, if any, families that were closer than they all were. But as greed and haughtiness corrupted the family that closeness deteriorated; members of the family looked upon their brothers with suspicion and anger. So scared were they that they would lose even the slightest bit of their wealth or power that they treated their own flesh and blood as one would their worst enemy.
God was saddened and angered by the family's shameful conduct. He had given them everything a person could desire and then some yet they acted like this. So where once GOD had looked with pride he now looked with disgust and that HE could not allow. To punish the family for their awful ways God cursed them, he cursed them so that they, who had shunned the company of any they felt beneath their family, would be unable to have any contact with those of the outside. He cursed them so that twelve members of their family would be forced to turn into the animal of God's zodiac whose year they had been born into should they be so much as embraced by a member of the opposite sex. Excepting those who were members of the zodiac twelve, God did this in hopes that the family might come to rely on each other as they once had.
This curse would go on for generations and generations; afflicting and punishing the family ad all they loved. God said that the curse could only be lifted when all twelve of the zodiac where united, when they and the others in the family came to accept the love and help of those outside of themselves and each other. Only when they truly wanted to be free would they become so and nothing but this would bring that change.
Such was the family's pride that this curse would go unbroken for generations and generations, for hundreds of years to come the family remained cursed and haunted by the actions of their forefathers.
