Okay, so I just finished Flashback, and I've been screaming ever since. If any of you have been following me for any of my past KotLC fanfics, then y'all know I'm a passionate SoKeefe shipper . . . *sighs*
Sophie Elizabeth Foster is Unmatchable
The words felt like a punch in the gut. Crazy how just a week ago this probably wouldn't have fazed her; in fact, it probably would be a welcome relief to an unsolvable problem. But now? It felt like she lost something she never truly had - something she never thought could be hers.
You see, ever since Sophie had met Fitz Vacker, she'd developed a major crush on him that's only snowballed over the past couple years they'd been friends. In her wildest dreams, she never would have thought he'd find out, let alone reciprocate her feelings. But he had. In fact, his exact quote was, "I want it to be you" when they'd been talking about Matchmaker Scrolls.
So now, here she was at the Matchmaker's office, and every secret fantasy she has been creating in her mind, both in terms past and presently, car crumbling down.
"Miss Foster" Brisa said gently, "I know this is a huge shock to you, right now, but the situation isn't as bleak as it initially seems."
"That's right" Juji joined in, "When these cases happen, there's always a lot of research we do in your files to figure out why you were deemed 'Unmatchable'."
Sophie tried her best to keep from falling apart in front of two basic strangers, bobbing her head up and down once, and trading her eyes at the hem of the outlandishly over-the-top gown she was wearing. "Canyon please tell me parents what happened? I-I need some fresh air..." She trailed off in a whisper, still not meeting there eyes, and not bearing to be able to see their screens for a second time. Barely hearing their consent.
Once she left the small room, she all but full on ran out of the building, tears streaming down her face as she raced past a slightly surprised Edaline and Grady, who weren't expecting to see their daughter so distraught after what was supposed to be an exciting occasion.
Sophie could barely think as she mindlessly flashed a crystal and light-lept away.
Sophie nearly collapsed when she landed— and probably would have— if a pair of arms hadn't wrapped around her to keep her steady. instinctively, she leaned into the embrace she only knew too well. "Whoa, whoa, Foster, is that you?" Asked a familiar voice traced with concern.
Alright, so it's almost midnight, and this is probably crap writing, and idek how this story is gonna go. But I'm a college student who needs something to relieve stress lol — pls lmk if this story interests you enough for me to continue it \_(ツ)_/
