I was staring at the city...
Or what was left of it.
A great flaming mass stared me in the face, daring me to even try to save my own people from burning to their deaths.
Zim was cackling behind me, smirking at my loss.
Not that the loss of my people was a great one, it was just a moral issue.
"Zim,"
Zim stopped cackling and looked curiously at the human, because the tone Dib used was not a hostile one, It was actually quite soft.
"I haven't lost anything."
Zim stopped in his tracks at this. What does the Dib-human mean by that?!
"What do you mean Dib-Human?"
"I mean I was just protecting those people just because at the time I didn't feel it was right for all those people to die for no reason. Now I know they have a reason to die."
Zim looked on wide eyed at the amber eyed human, in a state of shock. "Which is?"
"They were all ignorant beings who deserved to be killed, That's the reason. I agree with you, this race is disgusting."
Zim was even more shocked, if that was even possible. He sat next to Dib, who was lying on the ground in a semi-fetal position. "I'm surprised at you Dib. Never thought YOU would give up on your own race. Though, I guess I should have seen it coming with how they have treated you your whole life."
"Yeah. I have thought about something though."
"What would that be?" Zim thought out loud, not realizing he did so until it was too late to take the words back.
And in response, I grabbed the alien boys clawed hand. Zim stared at his hand for a moment, then Dibs face. Which was flushed, but happy.
"I love you...Zim."
Zim nearly keeled over dead at these words, but didn't thankfully.
"I-I...love...you too." Zim replied, nervous for once in his life. "I actually took over this planet for you, not the Irken empire. I wanted to bring you with me and leave this wretched ball of mud behind. I was going to outfit you a PAK and have you be turned Irken, if that's okay with you."
"Can I have it now? The PAK I mean."
Zim choked on air for a second at his eagerness, then swiftly recovered.
"Yeah, just follow me." Zim replied nonchalantly, while inwardly shrieking in excitement at the thought of Dib as an Irken. Little did Zim know it was pretty obvious he was trying to hide his excitement.
The pain form outfitting the PAK I didn't even feel, I just remember my skin turning green and my eyes enlarging. I didn't get shorter, as Zim warned me I might.
"Wow, you still have that scythe hair, or should I say scythe lekku now. And you lucky bastard, you still are so tall! Well, at least I'm as tall as you now, but the tallest will get a shock when I come back. We will overturn them, seeing as we are a whole foot taller than them now." Zim said that
"HOLY SHIT! I'm a leader of the Irken empire now too?"
"Guaranteed."
"Awesome!"
"Indeed Dib-love."
I entwined my hand with his again, and smiled. Zim blushed deeply, then leaned toward me.
I gladly leaned toward him, and we kissed.
"I am looking forward to the future, for the first time in my life." "As you should. Irken living is far superior."
The last thing I did on my former home planet was smile and kiss Zim as flames burned the screeching humans bodies.
And I really didn't give a shit,
Let them burn.
