The voices screeched around her, she had never handled so many before. She was anxious because not only did she not know when she could break control of everything in her head, but because she was going to be put in a house by a talking hat. Seriously, were these people nut jobs? Magic that she got, but talking hats? That was putting it over the top in her opinions. What was next? A clock carrying bunny? She felt like an honest to God Alice in wonderland. "Samantha Goresphille" She heard the old which in green call. McGonagall she recalled faintly, Head of Gryffindor she read faintly around the woman's somewhat protected mind and laughed, what's up with people now a days, do they WANT people to snoop in their minds. She walked forward and sat in the stool, the professor smiling at her as she placed the hat on Sam's head. Immediately she felt the hat trying to pry into her mind, she closed him out in an instance, making all the walls she had before stronger and creating more just to be sure.
Have something to hide sweetheart?
No, just protecting my privacy, you know a privilege we all have.
Not a privilege those around you have though right?
I never said it was fair, knowledge is worked for, not given
Ahhh, but now what house to put you in.
Can I mage a suggestion?
Sure, but that not necessarily will be what I give you.
I'm sure it will be.
Ok? Have it a go then, sweetheart
Gryffindor
Ahhh, interesting, yes maybe… my choice will be…
"GRYFFINDOR!" Sam grinned as she got off the stool and made her way to the red and gold table, before her a pair of twins had been sorted into her house. She had seen them in the train and had engaged in some conversation, finding them to remind her of her two older brothers Wane and Henry. She grinned at the thought of her brothers, a knot forming in her stomach, damn how much she missed them, one of the twins turns to her, "So Sammy girl will you be joining our pranking or simply watching from the sidelines. I grinned back, "How do I know I won't turn you in, Freddie boy?" the boy looked at Sam for a second, then smiled at her, "You don't seem like the type."
At that Sam smiled waving her hand over her glass to turn it into fruit punch. Other students looked at her in awe Fred just grinned, from the moment she had seemed special to him. "That's because I'm not, and yes I will be joining." Fred nodded, never stopping to grin.
"Brilliant" with Sam as a friend he knew his years at Hogwarts would be brilliant.
