A/N: Sorry, I know it's only short but exams. CUTE JOHNLOCK YISS. Prompt 39: Taste

On the subject of experiments

Sherlock, John thought with a wary frown as he accepted a cup of tea from the aforementioned man, was being unusually nice. For one he had made him tea, for a second there was no experiments out and John had all of his jumpers back. (Another experiment, apparently into the feel of wool on the skin.)

"Sherlock?"

"Yes, John?"

"What's going on?" the detective peered curiously over the newspaper he was reading.

"I don't understand?"

"You're being overly nice. You made me tea! You fetched milk to make the tea. What's gotten into you?"

"Nothing. I'm just in a good mood. I think I've found a good case." Despite this, he continued to pour over the newspaper for a further ten minutes until John announced he wasn't feeling well and disappeared up into his room. Not five minutes later, the doctor was passed out on his bed.

It took John four hours to wake up and when he did, he found a trembling, lightly sleeping Sherlock curled up into his chest. With a soft smile, the doctor wrapped his arms around the detective, causing him to wake.

"Mmm. John?"

"Hello, Sherlock. Care to explain?"

"It… it was an experiment. I wanted to know if human contact could prevent me from having nightmares and as you are the only human contact that I would consider trying it with but I didn't think you would do it willingly so I drugged you and…" Sherlock rambled, shutting up instantly when John hugged him close.

"Sherlock, I would have stayed with you if you had said something."

"I… Oh…" the black-haired man was silent for a while.

"You know, I knew that tea tasted funny," muttered John and Sherlock began to laugh.
