Waking up to a place where everything was washed out but a light that didn't seem to have a source should have been frightening, but it wasn't. If anything it was calming, soothing almost. I lay there, in the same position that I fell, trying to figure out what was happening when I heard the soft sound of slippered feet. Small feet covered in simple white slippers enter my vision, following them up as I turned my head I noticed pale legs before the hem of a white dress came into my vision. Finally I saw her face and she smiled gently.

She was simple looking, but her simplicity made her beautiful as well. Blonde hair, so pale it was nearly white, swept over one shoulder in soft waves. Blue eyes so light they were almost colorless looked at me full of gentle kindness, and a small smile played on her lips. As I looked at her I noticed she was as washed out as the room around her, as if color had been leached from her, and though that should have been worrisome it seemed natural on her. As if being near colorless was how she was supposed to look.

"Don't be afraid," she started in a soft voice as she continued to smile at me. "You're safe now, it's all over."

"Over?" I questioned, my voice sounded hoarse but I couldn't remember the reason why it would be, in fact I couldn't remember where I was before I woke up in this room.

"That's normal for everyone." She stated as if she could hear my thoughts. "Everything will come back to you soon."

I tried to sit up, I wanted to look at her better, I didn't like that I was on the floor staring up at her but my body wouldn't respond, it was as if I was glue to the floor. I wanted to feel panicked but I just couldn't, I felt nothing but calm, as if she were keeping me calm.

"You're here too early." She said as she knelt down in front of me. She brushed my hair with her hand, the touch was so delicate I almost couldn't feel it but it reminded me of a mother soothing her child. "So I'm here to give you a choice."

"A choice? What do you mean I'm too early? I don't understand."

She just shook her head calmly and continued to gently brush my hair. "You still have something you left unfinished and you've been given the choice to return and complete it. I'm here to help you with your choice, to either to go back and finish, or to continue on and meet your fate."

"My fate…?" I turned my eyes up to her; shift my head as much as it would allow me. "What do you mean my-" I stopped. I remembered.

"I'm dead."

She smiled sadly and her eyes softened more; she didn't deny it.

"I died when I-"

"Shh…" She stopped me from continuing as she stood up again and held out a hand. "I was sent to you to help you. I can send you back or, I can stay here with you and wait for you to move forward. It's your choice; you are the only one who can make it."

"I can go back?"

She smiled gently. "Yes," she said softly. "If you take my hand I can send you back to finish whatever it is you wish to do."

"What will happen to you?" I don't know why I asked, but I thought I had to.

She looked shocked, as if no one had ever asked her. "Nothing," she answered after a moment. "I will take you back and remain here. If you wish I can look after you after you've woken up again, just for a little while."

I reach out my hand to hers and placed my palm in hers. "Okay," I responded, "just for a little while."

She smiled radiantly and she looked all the more beautiful for it.

"Don't worry; I'll make sure you're safe." She said as her small hand tightened around mine.

In an instance the room lit up blinding me but her hand remained tightly around mine. Just when I didn't think I could handle the blinding light I heard a familiar voice.

"Pietro…?"
