Why do I have to keep fighting

The battle that never ended. They all finished there fights with none of them dying. What would happen if they meet the digidestined of another world that was the only one of her team left. What if all of them were pulled into another adventure to save not only there own worlds but the worlds that don't have digidestined.

Disaster the world around me dying. Screams of pain and loss with the ground shaking with the impacts. Then there are the shadows that kill you. οι αθάνατοι or otherwise known as the immortal demons. There waiting for you to drop your guard just for a second then...

Gasping for breath the girl darts her eyes around tense ready for a fight. Till her eyes land on the dagger that is usually under her pillow in the wall next to the terrified maid that came to wake her up.

"Lady Ebony please refrain from scaring the staff." Says a old woman with wrinkles of age and eyes of wisdom. She then taps the terrified maid and whispers in her ear she then pulls the dagger from the wall.

"Then why don't you wake me up Elaine. As head of the maids isn't your duty?" Lady Ebony ask while slowly sliding off the king sized bed.

"My lady I have other more important issues to attend to so that your schedule is right on track." Elaine says with her old eyes shining with mirth.

"Please you just get kicks from their expressions. Also how the troublemakers never question you after you set them with waking me up." Old woman probably has them eating out of her hand not to get this job.

"I do not understand how you came to that conclusion but I am not the one that throws daggers at people." The old woman is mocking me.

"I never knew a old lady could look like the Cheshire Cat." I say while I start my morning routine of getting ready for training before breakfast is done.

"Well I have no idea what you are talking about but you are going to be late for training with Leomon so get a move on my lady." I will never get used to her calling me that even though I have been queen for year.

"Of course you make me sound like the old one." What a nagger. Unfortunately she is probably right better start running.

I can't believe it's been 2 years since since the war ended. Compared to the stories that parents tell the children that haven't seen it how the good guys were strong and won it in one battle. What I would give up for that to actually be true to not have had so many friends sacrifice themselves for us to win.

"My queen great to see you again I apologize for my absence these past few weeks." Leomon loyal even when he lost a partner I will always remember him as the kind and cute Tsunomon that acted like a adult… or tried to.

"Don't call me that Leomon you've known me as Ebony for years and have called me that since forever don't stop now. I need some normalcy in this royal world."

" Of course Ebony now lets see if you kept up your training while I was gone." I take out my sword and slip into the stance that I have used since I could walk.

It's times like this that I forget the bad things in war and focus on the good. The birthdays, weddings, the hope. I have lost a lot and many others have also lost a lot, but the one thing that was the light in this is that future generations will survive and live without death and loss. This is a new beginning with a brighter future.
