Prologue

Morta sighed as she sat in her area of the den. The other packmates snored softly, a murmur or growl escaping from their throats once in a while.

"Morta?" A deep voice called for the care-taker's name. Sun entered the crack in the wall, his nose twitching.

The half-blind she-wolf looked over to him with her good eye. "What is it Sun?" she sighed half-heartedly. Everything was half to Morta. Ever since that coward Takoa had clawed her face when the Great Battle reigned.

Sun looked at her, concern in his amber eyes. "What's bothering you Morta. I know your expressions," the Alpha growled.

Morta darted a glance at him. "I don't like to be ordered around by foolish leaders, you know that!" she snapped. After the outburst, she scuffled her paws on the ground. "Sorry...I...I just don't like to be known as a disabled creature. I'm so much more Sun. Why can't the pack treat me that way?" Her pleading eye was deafening.

"I don't know Morta, I don't know." Sun sat on his haunches, itching a flea that was biting the back of his ear.

Morta looked over her shoulder, starting to get up. "Well, if you don't have anything to say then I suppose-" Sun interrupted her, suddenly alert and ready to say something.

"I have something to ask you."

"What is it then?" the slender she-wolf barked, raising her muzzle.

Sun licked his jaws. "I've been having dreams. Special ones."

Morta tilted her head to one side. "More detail please?" she asked.

"Well, this old wolf was explaining to me a whole prophecy, and-"

Morta yelped in warning. "Dear Sky Dancers, slow down please!" The brown she-wolf rolled her eyes. "Just recite the prophecy."

Sun took a deep breath. "A wolf shall reign, higher than all other, but darkness will fall over the pack, and an evil soul will be sent to come back, the sun will be destroyed, along with his kin, the good shall be demolished, and bad shall come to win."

Yeah, the sun part was sort of obvious...-._- oh wellz.
