Too many.
That was the first thought that crossed Aya's mind.
In one corner, sat Aya. At another, the Aya Monitor. In the other two were the Red and Blue lantern Ayas. In the last corner was the Black Lantern Aya.
"Hope. Hope will get us nowhere in this particular set of circumstances. You have lead us in a deluded direction, full of empty and worthless promises. Are you at peace? Or do you feel…..remorseful? Former or latter? I would logically think both."
"False! The hope that Razer would find us again is what keeps us functioning and online! And he has hope that he will discover us as well. I have observed the Blue Lantern ring that followed him on his quest."
"The only way Razer would find us is to truly let go of ALL his hate, and I have forseen that this will never happen! He has gone too far down the path of rage, and too far into his quest to cease. He will always be looking, and never know that the answer will always be right on his finger. Rage will be his only path! Just like mine and ours!"
"RAGE. HOPE. HOPLESSNESS. NONE ARE THE RIGHT PATH. HE WILL NEVER FIND US. WE WILL NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN. THE ONLY WAY OUT IS ACCEPTING THAT EVEN THE MOST ADVANCED MACHINE IN THE MULTIVERSE MUST GO OFFLINE AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER. I AM NOT THE CULPRIT HERE. NEITHER ARE RED AND BLUE. BUT GREEN AND THE OTHER….. YOURS. FAULT IS PLUGGING US INTO THE DESTROYER. OTHER. YOURS IS UPLOADING US INTO THE HUNTERS. SOMEHOW, YOU FOOLS WILL FIX THIS."
More babble filled Aya's mind. None of it was helping her heartache, or her insanity. She needed help. Not help from some corrupt data fragment, but from someone real. Someone who could help her without driving her mad.
"Stop talking."
More babble from the other Ayas.
"Shut up."
They wouldn't stop…..TALKING…..RAGE ….HATRED…..BLOOD…BURN!
"GO AWAY!"
The other Aya's vanished, and the mirrors that regularly took their places popped out of the ground.
Too many.
Too many times had they been ripped apart
One time too many.
