Lani: Here's the (late) poem I've been promising! Finally, huh? It's from L's perspective – no direct spoilers, but perhaps some implied (in a way). It's not as lengthy as some of my other ones, but Lulu really liked it, so I decided to share it. Thanks for reading and please enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Death Note! Sadly.

Done For

. . .

Deathly deep tolling of the bells –

Ringing out and consuming all.

I gaze – unblinking – out a window

Spattered by the constant rainfall.

Wonder if it has a deeper meaning,

But then the moment is shattered;

Laments splintered by a shrill timer.

Wonder if it's a shadowed omen,

If it could mean a million things more –

I think so. I breathe deep and believe

My cake is done.

Lani: In a way I'm kind of mocking myself; all the poems I've written thus far have been so angsty, so I wrote this with the intent of making the reader think it's sad until the final line. Trickery, I know, but it's supposed to be amusing in that way! XD
