Why the pain?
What did I ever do?
All I wanted to do was laugh,
Was to have a normal life.
To be able to talk to my friends,
To talk to them without the fear that Sailor Moon would be called.
I wanted to protect something that didn't exist.
For in this world there is no such thing as justice.
There is just the rich who have the money to buy what they want.
What hurts the most is knowing that he loves me,
But it's not me that he loves,
Not the crybaby, the wimp, the klutz, the dope,
He's in love with the brave one,
The one who can 'moondust' them every time,
He's in love with the princess,
The graceful, wonderful, beautiful girl,
The girl that I no longer am.
So, why, may I ask,
Did I get chosen?
Why?
Yet every time I am called back,
Back to fight for a meaningless dream,
One that will never come true,
For the evil can never truly be banished.
