A/N: Hello guys. It's been a VERY long time since I've updated the Queen Storyline or anything in general. Collage really does take a toll on you and losing most of the Queen Outline and chapters on a flash drive that fried, kills your confidence. I felt I let you guys down but don't worry, I'm making it up to you guys, also since I have someone on my back now to update more frequently. Nevertheless I repeat, I Will Not Abandon the Queen story line. I still have bits and pieces of the material written down that will help me remember the direction I was going in. If I had to give a rough estimate on the next Queen chapter…hmm I'd say most likely Friday. But while I'm working on that, I wanted to launch The Lone Wanderer's story as a gift to my fans who still wait patiently for my updates. Well a gift and another Aftermath series is what I call The Courier and Lone Wanderer's continuous adventures. Anyway, enjoy the first chapter and thank you for patiently waiting for updates.

Drawing wasn't his favorite thing to do. Normally it was just reading or helping his father with his work. But one day when he found himself bored out of his mind, more than usual. He didn't go to his, his father and Jonas secret spot where he'd practice his shooting with his BB gun. No, now he drew, a lot. Sometimes it was his comic book hero, other times it was hallways of the Vault to practice his shading technique and other times it was him facing down a giant radroach. But it was one drawing that he drew that made him love drawing and eventually fall for that someone he drew. Amata Almodovar, the forbidden fruit in his life. His drawings of her were always well detailed and always when she was focused. Five well drawn pieces of her, 100% focused on her supervisory work. Until one day Kale was daydreaming, messing around with his Pipboy and Amata was getting ready to surprise him with his favorite sugar treat, a sweet roll. Before she tapped him on the shoulder, he eyes diverted over his shoulder to his art work. She immediately noticed it was her on all the drawings, the well-drawn pieces made her smile. She leaned forward and whispered hi, scaring Kale just a little and in response he attempted to shield the sketches but he figured she already saw them. She tip toed around him as if he was unaware of her presences.
"I saw them Mr. Cross." She smiled placing the sweet roll in front of him, then using her hip to push him farther into the booth so she could view the drawings. "You know these are great," She picked up one at a time, smiling at each of them. "You have amazing talent."
"Yeah? I figured I was still on the amateur level of being an artist." He joked.
She folded her hands and gazed at him, "You don't give yourself enough credit Kale. Which actually reminds me."
He looked at her after recovering his drawings, "You asked me and I rejected you out of fear, not because I didn't feel anything from the kiss we shared that movie night. I'm scared because…I feel I wouldn't be suitable for you. I'm scared I might hurt you unintentionally…and you won't come back…when I really want you to."
Location: Megaton, Outskirts
Date: July 1, 2279
"I really wanted to come back too." Kale said unconsciously.
The young twelve year old, Sally looked up at Kale, confused at his sudden blank facial expression. His eyes were looking off in the distance and not even on the target ahead of them, which was an adult Mole rat, strolling about in the early morning. She observed it through the scope of the hunting rifle Kale was training her to use. Making sure it wouldn't get away and ruin her training. She was tempted to squeeze the trigger and nail the rat in its head but she was concerned with Kale, he was still stuck in his daydream. She placed the rifle down and tapped Kale's shoulder gently and then shook his shoulder. He blinked a few times, looked down to Sally and gave her a warm smile.
"Sorry, off in dream land…again." He said rubbing his eyes, then yawning after.
"Are you okay?" Her sweet voice sounding concerned. "We can do this another time!"
He smiled and shook his head, "Nope, I need you trained now just in case." Kale pulled out binoculars and watched the Mole rat, "Alright, get ready."
She nodded, pulling the rifle back up and adjusted herself before taking aim. She aimed the crosshairs right on its head and brought her right index finger onto the trigger.
"Remember you have to take distance and bullet drop in account here. Raise the barrel a little over its head and focus. Take a few deep breaths before firing." He literally heard her heart racing a bit.
Sally nodded and followed his directions. She relaxed her breathing, adjusting her aim, raising the scope and barrel a little higher than it was originally. She caressed the trigger and then gave it a quick squeeze. Within a millisecond, the bullet went right through the eye of the creature, killing it instantly. She giggled and whispered yes while doing a fist pump. Kale smiled, pushing himself up on his knees, proud of her and how far she came to today as a 214 year old kid, technically 14. She jumped to her feet and brushed herself off, still excited from her first legit kill. Unless you count the time she vaporized that alien.
"Now what? Now what?" She said all hyper activate.
Kale leaned down and grabbed the rifle, "Now we head home and grab some lunch."
With that, Kale grabbed the Mole rat with Sally and dragged it back to Megaton for The Brass Lantern, to help them restock their Mole rat meat supply since it seems a ton of people love what Leo Stahl does to it. No one knows but it tasted amazing. Sally disliked the taste still, after three years of living in Megaton and one time having to eat it for a week. She loved living in Megaton though. Since Kale handed the Alien Mother ship over to the BoS, Sally needed somewhere to live. Both Kale and Sally developed a close sibling relationship. Sally normally nagged him for his dangerous line of work, not dating Lucy West when he had multiple chances and the fact that his room was always so dirty. Guns, bullets, armor, swords, knives and grenades laying around. Kale always ignored her on some occasions but always gave her advice thought every day.
"Hey Jen!" Kale announced happily as he dragged the Mole rat up to the counter.
"Aha Kale Cross and Sally." Jenny greeted.
"Sally Cross," Sally corrected as she pulled herself into a chair. "If I'm going to be related to his life in anyway, I get the last name too."
Kale and Jenny smiled simultaneously at her comment but nevertheless she was right. Kale patted the dead Mole rat, "Got the boys Mole rat."
Jenny pulled it off to the side and tossed Kale a medium size bag of bottle caps, "Always a pleasure doing business with you two. So what'll you have?"
Kale sat down after placing his rifle against the counter wall, "I'll take a beer and two Iguana-on-a-stick."
"I'll take noodles and a Nuka Cola please."
Jenny smiled and went right off to cook up their orders. Sally smiled and spun around in her chair happily, watching Maggie and Hardin run about playing tag. She'd probably join the shortly if Kale didn't have chores for her to do. Most likely didn't when her friends were out playing. She looked toward Kale who was playing around with his Pipboy.
"Hey, so uh what were you thinking about back there?" Sally probed.
Kale smiled and responded, "I was thinking about…my old life."
"In the BoS?"
"Hah no…much older. Remember the story of Vault 101 I told you about?"
"Oh yeah!"
"Yeah, I miss it in a way."
Sally tilted her head slight until Jenny came with their meal and they both instantly dug into it like savages. Jenny smiled and left them to their meal. Sally didn't want to leave the conversation in the state it was now though. She only knew portions of Vault 101, about his dad and Jonas. Also the little fables he came up with. Something else was there he missed, someone who was still there.
"So who-"
"Kale Cross? Is that you?" A young woman questioned behind them.
Both Kale and Sally peered over their shoulders, Sally saw a tall slim young woman, wearing a similar Vault suit that Kale use to wear but his is armored. Kale responded saying her name, Christine Kendall. Was this the girl he was day dreaming about?
No Sally said to herself. The way he greeted her, a quick hug and both putting a decent amount of space between them. No they were just friends, good friends. She chuckled in her head, Kale's training was kicking in on Sally. Kale turned to Sally with a smile on his face and introduced them.
"Chris, this is-"
"You have a DAUGHTER?" She instantly interrupted with a shocked tone.
Both Kale and Sally laughed, "He wishes he had a daughter like me." Sally told her.
"Anyhow," Kale finished laughing. "No, she's like a sister I've somewhat always wanted." Sally playfully punched his shoulder and then went back to eating. "I found her, a prisoner of a…uh…group. A very strange group. We fought them and beat them. Now she lives with me until she's older for her own place." He joked.
"Do you still work for the BoS? Normally you'd be on the job."
"Oh no hah, I'm a Regulator now, Bounty hunter really. But enough about me, how 101? How's everyone?"
"Everything's good, came to Megaton to pick up some supplies." She presented the bag. "We needed parts for…something. I don't know, they just gave me a list."
"Everything alright?"
"Yeah I believe so. Nothing bad, probably just bad circuits that need to be replaced." She looked at the time and realized she was actually running late. "Crap, I'm going to be late and their going to worry. I'll tell everyone you said hi as well as Amata!" She ran, waving goodbye to them with her bag full of supplies.
Kale slowly walked back to the counter and grabbed his beer, taking a long swig. He saw Sally looking at him with her big glowing smile.
"Who's Amata?"
A/N: Hope you enjoyed this chapter! A few points I wanted to make though before the next chapters are put up. One point, this is separate from The Male Courier's story, meaning that the Courier in this universe is one of my female builds and in reverse for The Courier (hopefully that made sense). Second point, these story lines will be rated mature since I've been exploring differently with my writing (No more kids' stuff…mostly). Don't worry, nothing too extreme. Third point, since I've been exploring with my writing. The story will be longer and richer in content. Last point, I've added a few things in the world (places, not really going to give them a name but describe it well enough so you can image It.), a characters as well. I don't really see it as something that should be brought up but it wouldn't hurt for you guys and ladies to know. Anyway, see you next time!
