Let it go. Alexa's version.

Story:

Alexa is the eldest daughter of the king and queen of a small kingdom far to the west of Arendelle. She was born with silver gray eagle-like wings and magic powers that encompassed the four elements and the four seasons, among other things. As a result, her parents kept her locked in her room, with bars on the windows, so that she couldn't fly and reveal her secret. They also made her wear a long cape to hide her wings and hardly let her have any contact with her younger sister Hannah.

Her parents are then killed on a trip when she and her sister are teenagers. When Alexa comes of age, for the first time ever she gets to leave her room for the whole day. At the coronation party, the two sisters are awkward around each other as they spent so little time with one another. Alexa is silent and aloof, trying not to do anything that might reveal her secret. Hannah just wants her sister to like her. Near the end of the party Hannah confronts Alexa and demands to know why her older sister hates her. Alexa is aghast that Hannah would think that and tries to explain without giving her secret away. Hannah is not convinced and accidentally pulls Alexa's cape off, revealing her wings. Everyone gasps in fright and shock and some people even call her a demon. Alexa, her emotionally scared heart unable to take the abuse, throws off her crown and runs out the door, taking flight for the first time in her life, into the night.

She is astounded by how natural flight is to her as she instinctively knows how to navigate the winds and air currents. The feeling of flight is exhilarating and her true wild spirit is freed at last! She flies for miles until she comes to Elsa's abandoned ice castle and decides to live there, transforming it into a castle of living trees with her own magic powers.

Author's Note: I haven't seen the movie yet, just a few clips and music videos, so I don't know if Elsa's ice castle was still intact after the Great Thaw. However, I'm assuming that it was as it was in the mountains above the permanent snowline.

Song:

A castle of ice stands alone in the night, not soul is to be seen,
A kingdom of isolation and it looks like, I'm its new queen.
The howling wind gives voice to the agony inside.
Couldn't hold it in, even though I tried.

Don't let them in, don't let them see, be the tame girl you always have to be.
Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show. Well now they know!

Let it go! Let it go! Can't hold it back any more!
Let it go! Let it go! I will spread my wings and soar!
I don't care what they think of me! Let the storms rage on.
The wind is my only friend anyway.

It's amazing how some distance, makes problems disappear,
And the fears that once did chain me, can't get to me here!
It's time to see what I can do. To test my limits and break through!
No more fear of the unseen! I'm free!

Let it go! Let it go! I am one with wind and sky!
Let it go! Let it go! Soul and body now freely fly!
Here I land and here I'll stay. Let the storms rage on.

My power's flowing taking root into the ground.
My soul is rising up in living pillars all around!
And one thought brings forth blossoms like a burst of spring!
I'm never going back! This place is all I need!

Let it go! Let it go! And I'll rise with the light of dawn!
Let it go! Let it go! That docile girl is gone!
Here I stand as I truly am! Let the storms rage on!
The wind is my only friend anyway.
