A/N: This is my idea of what can happen in the very first scene of season 5. It's sad but very realistic. At least for me.
Sorry for all mistakes. If someone wants to beta this little story, let me know!
Disclaimer: I do not own Castle. It belongs only to the excellent A. Marlowe and ABC. I just borrowed them for a second...

The storm had stopped few hours ago, but the rain was still pouring on crowded streets of New York. The sun was slowly rising. Cold wind encroached into the dark room through the half open window.
Kate stirred when she felt coldness on her naked body causing her to wake up. When she opened her eyes, she didn't know where she is, but after the second wave of flashbacks and memories hit her. Then she felt it. Felt him. Castle. He was spooning her and gently encircled her belly with his strong arm. Their legs were tangled up.
Uncontrolled smile appeared on her face. They finally did it. She at last had let go of all her fear and had came here. To the only confident and safe aspect of her life- Castle. She had hurt him so badly and was grateful that he'd found power to forgive her. He'd been so subtle with her. She would've never expected him to be so patient and tender after four years of waiting and wanting.
Lying here with him, Kate felt safe and loved. His warm breath on her neck was so reassuring and felt sooo good. I'd never leave from here if I could. She thought, but then other memories hit her and this time it was nothing pretty. Her shooter was still somewhere out there. Hunting, because for sure he knew that she's alive.
And suddenly her wall was up again. If her shooter was still alive, she couldn't let him near to Castle and his family. They couldn't suffer because of her. I'm not worth it. I can't be here.
Carefully, she untangled herself and got up from bed. Luckily, her clothes from yesterday had enough time to dry during the night. She got dressed quickly looking at Castle with fear. He couldn't wake up now, cause Kate knew she wouldn't be able to leave then.
She silently tip-toed to his side of bed and gently caressed his cheek. He leaned into her touch but didn't wake up. The tears slowly started to fall down. She had to leave before she breaks down.
Kate charily bent down and lightly kissed the corner of his mouth. "I'm so sorry Castleā¦" She whispered and walked out of the room.
..::O::..
As he heard the front door closed after her, he finally opened his eyes and let the silent tears fell. He hadn't stopped her. He couldn't. He didn't want to. He couldn't force her to anything. It should be her decision. And she had made one. He had let her go even though it hurt so badly.
A/N: This is one-shot but I can go along with it if you want... Just let me now!
