Mild spoilers for Hobbit movie and story of Celebrìan.
This was just for fun, I don't usually write poetry so don't get used to it. I was re-reading the Hobbit after seeing it for the third time and the scene where Elrond, Galadriel, Saroman, and Gandolf were sitting at the table really caught my attention. Then for some reason Celebrìan popped into my head and I found myself writing a poem set as the dwarves were leaving, after they saw the sword, and it's from Elrond's POV.
This is the first thing I've ever written for LotRs so bear with me.
Time is at a stand still,
the birds have ceased their song,
Yet flowers still bloom in the sadness,
That is rampant all around.
The singing is no longer jolly,
The smiles reach no eyes,
I know you await my calling,
But something holds me here.
The sea has yet to summon,
For here my people need me,
To lead against the madness,
And guard us from the dark.
We have seen it coming,
The darkness once again,
The Blade of the Witch King has found me,
And trouble will cling to its path.
But in this oncoming darkness,
I see a light, a hope,
For somewhere I know you are waiting,
Upon the golden sands.
I will find you,
For I promise,
That no one man can stop me,
Nor any army of evil or good.
Darling Celebrìan.
