The scream.

The ear-piercing scream. It echoed through the cramped room. The mouth from where it came from was violently shaking, watching the bloody events. The body of the little girl couldn't stand the amount of fear building up and therefore, the violent shaking increased.

I stood there, motionless, tears of both regret and happiness falling.

Facing his back to me, I slowly called out his name.

"Hisagi...?"

It seemed like a whisper to the little girl, but it was a stab in the heart for him.

I took a step, fearful of what would happen if I neared the killer.

"Kaiya...I-I..."

He couldn't get his words out. I neared him, placing one hand on his shoulder.

He turned. My eyes widened.

"I'm sorry..."

He faced me with his hands up. On them were the blood of the victim. Tears started to flow down my face again.

I looked up at him. His face was shocked. I turned my head to look at the victim.

It was limp, lifeless. It was so hard to see that the body used to belong to my father.

The young girl called out to me. I faced her. Gathering up enough energy, she ran over and hugged me with the little strength she had left.

Didn't I want this to happen?

I was angry at him.

Didn't I want to get away from him, get away from the threatening and beating?

Hisagi did the right thing. I slowly wrapped my arms around his stiff neck.

"Hisagi...you did the right thing. I couldn't bear my little cousin seeing my father do the horrible stuff he did to me. It was bound to happen to him. It was either going to be me or him."

"I couldn't help it..." He took a breath, "I had to do something, but I never thought it would lead to this..."

I stood there, holding onto Hisagi with my young cousin between us.

This was my wish.

I wanted it to happen.

And I didn't regret it one bit.
