Hello! So this idea came to me when I was just thinking of dogs in general, and then I suddenly thought "What would happen if Percy had a dog?" So, naturally, I had to write a fanfiction about it. I think it's really cute and stuff. I just love relationships between people and animals, because they are so cute :) So I want keep you waiting any longer. On with the story!

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the PJO characters, just Addy ( my OC) and Dolly and the Davidsons.

"One of the most enduring friendship in history- dogs and their people, people and their dogs." - Terry Kay

"Percy!" Jason calls from the doorway. "Check this out!"

Percy groans. Tomorrow, he had a big test, and like usual, he had put the studying till the last day.

Jason probably had a new video game, or something like that. What Percy does not expect to see , however, is a puppy nestled in Jason's arms.

"Dude." Percy starts. "Why'd you bring a dog?"

Jason grins. "Well, you know how Piper volunteers at the animal shelter? Well, Dolly here-" Jason nudges the puppy in his arms. "- wasn't getting adopted. The shelter didn't have any space for her, so I offered to take her in until someone adopts her."

"As you roommate, I would have liked to know that you were getting a dog." Percy informs him "Then, I would have gotten a dorm with Grover."

Jason rolls his eyes. "Come on, Percy. We only have to keep her for 6 months. What do you have against dogs anyways?"

Percy stares at him. "A dog bit me when I was 5!"

"Dolly's harmless." Jason puts the little dog down, and it starts to wander around his legs and the little space in front of the doorway. "Besides, you took care of Mrs. O'Leary a gazillion times before."

"But she was tamed!"

"So is Dolly. Besides, she likes you. Look!" Jason points to the puppy who is nudging Percy's foot with her own little paw. She tilts her head upwards, tongue lolling out.

Jason grins. "She wants you to pat her head."

"I can't pet it! It's probably filled with fleas and other vermin!"

"Dolly is squeaky clean. Besides, you don't even know what vermin means."

Percy stares at the little dog, who is giving him these adorable puppy eyes. And since Percy is the ultimate champion of puppy eyes, he knows what the number one rule for them is: You can not resist puppy eyes.

Slowly, Percy gets on his knees, and pats the soft fur on Dolly's head. "You might be a little cute. But don't tell Jason I said that." he says under his breath.

Dolly gives a little yap, like she is saying Fine by me.

Percy decides that Dolly is a pain in the neck. An adorable pain in the neck.

First of all, she wakes him up by pouncing on him like the little hunter she is at 6:30 in the morning on the days when he's feeling much more tired than usual.

"Why do I have to be your favorite?" Percy grumbles as he gets out of bed. "Why can't you wake Jason up instead?"

Instead of answering, Dolly gives a little bark and runs around in little circles before collapsing on the ground.

Percy gives a little chuckle. That dog is a fool.

He takes Dolly out of the dormitories on a leash to the nearest bushes. While she does her business, Percy looked at the watch he is wearing. It is 6:40 right now. Since Dolly is an active dog, either him or Jason take her on a walk each morning before classes. Right now, they have 20 minutes to take a quick walk round the block before Percy has to go back and get ready for class.

They run into a couple of other people walking their dogs too. The annoying part is when the other dog barks, and Dolly barks back, and soon it is a barking fest and Percy has to steer the little dog out of the way.

"Why do you always do that?" Percy asks her, shaking his head. Dolly just looks back at him with big brown eyes and an innocent expression, like Who, me?

"Yes, you." Percy tells her. "It's getting annoying."

Dolly just gives an extra tug on the leash, and starts running, with Percy behind her, trying to keep up.

By the time they reach the dormitories, Percy is exhausted.

Dolly is also incredibly rude towards visitors.

Take the time Annabeth came over. She were here to see the dog that Jason bragged about everyday.

When the doorbell rings, Dolly lifts her head from her rubber ball and gives a menacing growl.

"Relax, Dolly. Its just Annabeth coming to see you." Percy assures her before opening the door.

As soon as the dog sees the girl at the front door, she starts barking and growling like crazy. To calm her down, Jason has to take her in her arms and gives her a little swat to the ear. She stops with the barking and growing, but still eyes the visitor with distrust.

Annabeth eyes the dog warily. "Is this a good time?"

Percy shakes his head. "Its fine. I guess Dolly isn't really comfortable with visitors."

Before she can ask any more questions, Jason ushers her into the living room, Dolly still in his arms. The girl sits on the small couch, and Percy and Jason sit on two chairs facing her.

Dolly escapes from Jason's arms and runs out of the room.

"Quite a dog you've got." Annabeth comments. "You must be loving it."

Jason laughs. "Percy doesn't love it as much as I do. She's really fun to have around."

Percy shrugs. "I got over my dislike of dogs. Did you know that Addy has always wanted a dog?"

"We'll, she'll get quite a surprise next visiting day."

The three teens strike up a conversation, catching up on the latest news.

Before long, it's time for Annabeth to go. Dolly rushes into the room right as she gets off of the couch.

"Bye Percy." Annabeth tells him. "Do you want to have dinner in that new restaurant on 28th street next Saturday?"

Percy allows a small smile to come over on his face. "Sure."

Annabeth leans over and plants a kiss on his cheek. "Good."

At the small sign of affection, Dolly starts barking again, this time much louder. Annabeth stares at the dog for a moment before saying "I guess I'll just leave" and walking out the front door.

Percy sighs as he picks up Dolly, trying to calm her down. She quiets down, but occasionally, a small growl will escape her throat.

Percy puts her down and looks at her. "Dolly, you can't do that every time someone comes over. Then nobody will like you. Besides, Annabeth is my girlfriend. She can kiss me on the cheek."

Dolly tilts her head to the side like she's saying Huh?

Percy swears that sometimes that dog can be as clueless as him.

When Addy comes on Visiting Day, she instantly falls in love with Dolly.

The first thing she says when she bursts in the door is "I heard you had a dog."

"Sure, say hello to your big brother who you only see once a month." Percy grumbles.

Addy ignores him and starts looking for the dog.

Dolly trots into the room. When she sees Addy, she doesn't start barking like she did like last time, which is a big relief. Before Addy came over, Jason and Percy had to give Dolly a big lecture on how she should never start barking like that when visitors came over.

Addy sees the dog and starts cooing. "Aww, she's adorable!" she squeals. She holds out her arms open and gets on her knees, as if wanting Dolly to go in them.

Dolly looks hesitantly at the open arms, and it takes the dog a little prodding from Percy before she jumps in them.

Addy starts cuddling with her, and scratching her belly and head. Dolly immediately likes her, and starts licking her face. Addy laughs and asks Percy "What's her name?"

"Dolly."

Addy stares at him incredulously. "What? But there are so many cool names out there, like Ripjaw and Shredder, and you choose Dolly?"

Percy stares at her, before gesturing to the dog that is still licking Addy's face. "Does she look like a Ripjaw or Shredder to you?"

Addy looks at Dolly for a while before speaking. "Hmm, you're right. She's definitely a Maiden of Menace."

Percy chuckles. He's forgotten how violent his little sister can be. She probably got those names from some of her video games.

Addy puts Dolly down, but the silly dog tries to jump back in her arm again, until Percy has to restrain her.

"What type of breed is she?" Addy wonders.

Percy squints, trying to remember. "Um, Jason said that she was something like a Brisket Griffin Veneer."

"You mean Briquet Griffon Vendeen?"

Percy smiles. "Yah, Dolly is that!"

Addy frowns. "I was hoping you guys would get a German Shepherd."

"Addy," Percy sighs. "Jason is the one who got her, not me. I didn't even want a dog."

Addy just hums, and goes back to playing with Dolly. For the rest of the afternoon, she doesn't speak with Percy unless it has something to do with Dolly. When Addy has finally gone to sleep in the guest room, Percy turns to the dog who is staring at him.

"Do you always have to be so cute and adorable?" he asks her. "Addy didn't speak to me at all the whole day."

Dolly just sniffs the air, and goes to Percy's room where her comfy bed will be waiting for her.

Percy smiles. That dog is just like him

Apparently, Dolly hates the dog park.

Jason had taken her to a close dog park one day for their regular morning walk. When they came back, Jason was covered in nicks and scratches.

"Dolly didn't like the other dogs there." Jason explains. "So she ran through the bushes, pulling me along too."

The dog is covered in leaves, branches, and mud.

"Dolly." Percy whines. "Did you have to and get dirty? I just gave you a bath yesterday."

Dolly gives a sad whine, and nudges Percy's foot.

He sighs. "Okay, you don't have to go to the dog park anymore. But come on, we have to get you cleaned up."

By the end of the day, Percy is more wet than Dolly is.

It's the day when Dolly has to go with her new family.

Jason and Percy are standing outside the animal shelter, where the Davidsons will be meeting them to pick up Dolly. Piper and Leo were there too, because everybody else was too busy, and they were Dolly's favorite out of the whole gang.

Leo and Jason are playing catch with her, which somehow ended up in Tackle the Leo. Piper just stands in the sidelines, laughing.

"I can't believe this is our last time with her." Percy mumbles to Piper.

Piper smiles at him. "Don't worry. The Davidsons are nice people. I'm sure that that they'll let you visit her from time to time."

Percy just nods, but he knows that it won't be the same. Jason and him had become attached to the little dog in the last five months. When they're going to return to the dorms later, it won't feel the same without Dolly.

A blue car pulls up next to the four teenagers. Jason and Leo immediately stand up, brushing the dirt off their clothes. Piper catches Dolly, who's trying to sneak up on a squirrel, and puts her in her arms.

A man and woman in their mid thirites, and two kids - one boy and one girl- get out of the car. The man extends his hand to Percy, who's the nearest, and introduces himself. "Hi, I'm Jacob Davidson, and I'm here to officially adopt Dolly."

Piper hands Dolly to Jason. "The papers are inside. I'll show you what to fill out." She leads the couple inside, leaving the two kids with the teenagers.

"So..." Leo starts of, trying to break the silence. "What are your guys' names?"

"I'm Rudy. She's Opal." The boy gestures to himself, then to his sister. They both look around ten.

"Do you want to pet Dolly?" Jason asks gently.

Opal reaches her hand out timidly to pet Dolly on the head. Rudy does the same.

"Can we play with her?" Opal asks shyly.

Jason smiles at the two kids. "Sure. Here's her favorite ball." He brings out a chewed up red rubber ball. Rudy takes it from his hand, and throws it softly a few feet away. Dolly wriggles out of Jason's hands, and goes out to get the ball. Soon, she's grown used to the new kids, and is barking and wagging her tail excitedly.

Piper comes outside with the couple, and the woman calls out "Come on you two, let's go home."

"Wait!" Percy says. "Can we say goodbye first?"

Mrs. Davidson's face softens. "Sure, why not?"

Leo goes first, and pats Dolly on the head. "Bye Dolly. You were a fun dog."

Jason gets on his knees. "Don't get into trouble, okay?" he tells the dog sternly. He gives Dolly a hug. " We're gonna miss you."

Piper just pats the dog on the head and tells her that she was a good dog and that she'll miss her.

When it's Percy's turn, he takes Dolly into his arms. "Be a good dog, will you Dolly? You were really fun to have around. I'm gonna miss you a lot."

Dolly looks at him with mournful eyes, as if sensing this is the last time she'll see her master. Percy hands her over to Mrs. Davidson, who smiles at them all. "You're welcome to visit her any time you want. "she informs them.

She gets into the car with her family. When the engine starts, the four teenagers chorus "Bye Dolly!" They hear one final bark from her, and then the car starts moving. They can see Dolly looking at them through the back window. Percy doesn't stop waving until the car disappears in traffic.

He drops his arm, feeling tires.

Jason claps a shoulder on his back. "Come on, let's go home."

The two say goodbye to Leo and Piper, and walk home, knowing that it will be different without Dolly with them. But now, she has a better family and home, and Percy can't help but feel a little happy toward his favorite dog.

"Let's go meet with Nico." he tells Jason. "I want to see Mrs. O' Leary again."

So that's the end! Sorry if the dog's behavior seems a little off. I don't have a dog,but I tried to base Dolly's actions off of my friend's dog. So tell me what you thought in reviews, whether you liked it, hated it, or thought it was boring. I love getting them, because they make my sucky day into a fantastic one. See you later, alligators!
