Don't get mad. Get even. Those words were the only thing on Harry's mind as he boarded the train home that summer. Post Ottp. HHr. Ron bashing.
Preface
He would start with Bellatrix, Harry thought as he glared out the train window of the Hogwarts Express.
This summer had already started off terrible. Harry felt as though the image of Sirius falling through the veil was constantly in his mind's eye.
I just have to be stronger next time, he thought.
Across from him in the compartment sat his best friend Hermione. The smartest witch of her year still looked quite pale and drawn-a result of the lasting effects of Dolohov's curse.
Why does everything always happen to Harry, she thought.
Across from her, Harry was lamenting the same thing. The only difference was that he had a plan.
Somewhere between his destroying Dumbledore's office after being told the prophecy and the Hogwarts Express, Harry had made up his mind- something was seriously wrong in his life.
Besides the normal things wrong in his life, constant near death-threats from Dark Lords included, there was also the fact that all of these things seemed to happen to him at Hogwarts. After all, how was it that no teacher was able to figure out there was a basilisk in the school? Or ferret out the fact that Professor Quirrell had Voldemort sticking out of the back of his head? How was it that Dumbledore, supposedly the greatest wizard of his time, had made such grave mistakes with Harry?
The only answer Harry had was that he had somehow been set up. Someone else was running his life, and they were remarkably unconcerned for his wellbeing.
No more.
No more was he going to allow himself to be led by the nose by Dumbledore. No more was he going to be a victim of his circumstance.
And so, decision made, Harry decided not to get mad.
He would get even.
What do you guys think?! Should I continue? Let me know in the comments! I can't promise to update quickly, as I am a full time college student and work part-time, but I'll try!
