Where to Turn
Hah!
A brave soul stood firm for his beliefs.
The Sanada blade sliced through the heavy air. Footwork swirled the dust beneath. The red warrior was shielded in hard crimson blood, his adorations wore in gold. His trained mind and spirit seemed to have no match. Yukimura Sanada. There was something about him that made her shiver with rather embarrassment. Zhang Fei's daughter, Xing Cai, was not the kind of girl whom showed her emotions easily. And yet…
"My lady, is there something the matter?" Yukimura noticed his guest watching. Upon seeing her, he had to admit, the beauty of the white plum were radiating upon this woman. He knew he did not understand her, but as a gentleman, he nodded to assure her what little trust she has for him. "You wish to speak with me?" The black-haired man tilted his head slightly.
He spoke in words she has never heard before and yet she urged herself to go forward, "I did not mean to disturb you." Her dark eyes blink unable to think of anything else to say. She smiled, but she saw the warrior in red shifting his posture and heading for his horse. Did he have to go?
Sanada straddled on his horse, nodded to her again.
The Zhang girl took a step back. It was dusk. The sun was setting and the back aura of the warrior mounted on his steed awed her. Rays of the orange-yellow disk shed and share its petals planting themselves rest upon the back red metals of the Sanada armor. A gleam in the corner of his eyes was the brilliance and proof of his burning spirit. Gifted in the martial talents from youth, he twirled his spear by his side. Something about Yukimura made her reminisce the years she and her mentor, Zhao Yun, once had.
Discipline, virtue, and utmost loyalty are always valued amongst the people of Shu-Han.
"Shall I escort you back into camp?"
She still did not understood his words, but somehow she knew from the offering of his hand. Xing Cai responded, she did not want any help getting back into camp. She wandered here all by herself for that matter, only just to get some fresh air, to clear her head from the sudden twist in this world.
It was no use to tell him her problems, for she barely knew anyone because of his or her different tongue. Lady Yue Ying had her own problems and she did not want to be distraught more by anyone's interference. Her only friend was her mentor, whom was too obsessive with finding their lord, and her only family, her father, where she last heard, sided with the enemy.
"My lady, I know it is rude of me to take your hand without permission. But when darkness covers this land…" Yukimura's horse trotted a step, "Come…we must depart." He swiftly took her hand and pulled her onto his horse. A beat flush brushed her porcelain cheeks. The spearman reminded, "Wandering alone here is forbidden. You, being a warrior, should remember that. You even came unarmed, it was foolish to do so."
By the inclination syllable he uttered, the Shu officer had her fill of lectures, "I am not a child…" Xing Cai lipped. She felt Yukimura's strong presence, his arms walled her escape while his hands were locked onto the reins. For now, he shelter her, and for now, she felt at ease.
Author's Note: Even the strong, impassive Xing Cai feels defeated inside. Poor Xing Cai…
