He was getting used to these calls in the middle of the night. Most of the time Seamus was drunk when he called him at such an ungodly hour. And the reason was that his current boyfriend cheated on him again. Dean sighed when his mobile phone rang. He turned to look at the alarm clock on his nightstand. 3.37 am. He took the phone and pressed the green button.
"Shay...what is it this time..?"
He could hear his best friend's sobbing. Dean could not understand his best friend. When he was drunk, his irish accent was unmistakable and the sobbing made it even worse. All he could understand was 'Blaise' and 'left'.
"Shay, listen...what about you come over? No apparation! Just...no apparation. Alright...? I'll make tea and you can sleep here..."
"O-okay..."
Dean hung up and got up to make tea. He really wondered why they were still together after all the time. It was once or twice per month when Seamus called him. Now it was twice per week that he called him and was drunk because of Blaise. Dean prepared the tea and could already hear Seamus walking upstairs. He opened the door and had to support his best friend. He could smell the firewhiskey. They walked inside and the irish Gryffindor fell on the couch immediately. His eyes were red and he was still sobbing.
"Cheatin'...bastard...f'cking...prick..."
Dean sighed and summoned the tea and a sober-up potion. Shay drank it and sighed once he was sober again.
"I'm sorry...that I called you the whole time and that I'm such a stupid best friend.."
He sighed and leaned against his friend, drinking the black tea. Both sat there for a while until they decided to go to sleep. It was normal that they shared the bed. He already had his own pyjamas and blanket there. Both laid down and Shay turned towards Dean.
"We...broke up two weeks ago. This time for real. He...took his clothes and left...told me that he found someone else..."
Dean should not feel good or happy but he did. He was very happy. But he wondered why he did not told him two weeks ago.
"That's...good, I guess. You should have told me before, Shay."
He could see the blush on Finnigans cheeks. It was adorable how confident and shy he could be at the same time. Seamus watched him and pulled himself together. He crushed their lips together, hoping that Dean would not push him away. And he did not push him away. The kiss did not last long and he could see his best friend smiling.
"Wanna know why we broke up...?"
The artist nodded.
"He...told me that I don't love him. That I love someone else...that I love you...and I guess he was right. I had to think about what he said. I guess he knew it the whole time and I was just too stubborn to notice it..."
"Wouldn't be the first time – ouch! What? You are stubborn...and short tempered."
Seamus smiled and punched him again before he wrapped his arms around Deans neck.
"Shut it, Thomas...and let's sleep. I'm freakin' tired!"
Dean just sighed and ruffled through the sandy hair before he pulled the cover higher. But he could not sleep, not after what happened. Instead, he watched Seamus. Somehow he should thank Zabini for breaking up with his best mate.
