Thanks Bones
Summary: CBPC April – Little Moments. When a case hits too close to home, who's there for Booth? Slight BB.
Disclaimer: No, I don't own Bones. If I did, Booth and Brennan would be in a secret relationship.
"Bones, have you got the ID yet?" I asked my partner, while climbing the stairs.
"Yeah, Ange finished the sketch and…" She stared at her shoes.
"And what Bones?"
"I knew exactly who it was and where to look," she finished.
Bones handed me the ID on our victim. I stared at it for a moment and then pulled out my cell phone. I hit speed dial 3 and waited.
"Hello?"
"Rebecca?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"You need to pick up Parker today," I told her. Then I paused. "And a lot of days after today."
"Why? What's going on Seeley?"
"It's this case I'm working on…" My voice trailed off.
"I don't get it."
"We just got an ID on our second victim," I said. "It's…it's Rose."
"Rose…as in Parker's nanny, Rose?"
"Yeah…"
"Oh my god."
"I'm sorry Rebecca," I said.
"Find out who did this Seeley. They might be watching Parker!"
"I know. And I will find out who did this." I hung up and turned to Bones. "How did you know who it was?" I asked her.
"I met Rose," she answered. "Remember when Howard Epps escaped and left the coin in Caroline's ear?" I remembered. At the time I was too worried about Parker though. Parker…my little boy. Oh god, I hope he's okay. "Booth?" Bones waved her hand in front of my face. Then I hugged her.
"Thanks Bones," I whispered.
"For what?" she asked, hugging me back.
"For being here for me," I replied.
"You're welcome Booth," she said. "What are friends for?"
A/N: Awwwww! I never knew I could write something so…sentimental! Please review. And btw, this was a hard topic for me.
