Author's Note: This is far from the current manga chapter released. This would be my first try at writing a VK fic, I hope you all like it!
Pairing: Kaname x Yuuki
Setting: This would be when Yuuki was younger.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
He always had been watching her sleep. Ever since that snowy night he had found her and brought her to the academy. There was something about her that inevitable drew him to her. Was it the trust he saw in her eyes when she looked at him? Her childish naivety? Or could it be the way she smiled so warmly at him whenever they met? In the end, the possible reasons it didn't matter much to Kaname because he knew that whatever the it was, it didn't change how he saw her, felt for her.
A strong wave of emotion he hardly ever felt washed over him and his red eyes skimmed her face. He had every detail of her memorized. Kaname sighed and leaned back against the soft cushion of the sofa, the sky was dark outside –moonless. He supposed it meant something, a new beginning or maybe an omen.
He glanced outside the cold glass window when a movement caught of his eye. A flash of annoyance appeared on his face- it was Zero, standing in defiance two stories below. The said vampire locked eyes with him –glaring- and Kaname offered him a smile of his own which he knew irked every nerve in Zero's body. He noticed how the former vampire hunter clenched his fists before walking away. He was positive Zero wanted to smash it square on his face.
Well, let's just see him try.
"Not now," Kaname said, sensing the presence outside his door while his eyes never left Yuuki, watching her for any sign of waking.
"But…" Ruka paused, she knew better than to defy the pure-blood. "I'm sorry to disturb." Her voice held an icy tone; it made her blood boil to think that a mere human was in a room with Kaname-sama.
Kaname stood and walked over to his bed where Yuuki slept, her long dark hair fanned out around her head. He let his fingertips skim the edge of her face then the length of her hair lying closest from where he stood.
"Yuuki." He murmured her name, relishing it as it rolled of his tongue. Why? He wanted to ask, why do you make me feel this way? It was dangerous, this infatuation towards her. But the feelings ran too deep to actually have a word to properly name it. He sighed, then carefully lying next to her and making sure he didn't wake her.
Because he knew their precious time will end once the sun rises.
His head was propped on his hand as he watched her take long, unhurried breaths as she slumbered on.
For now, he was satisfied watching her sleep.
