It was rare that just the two of them were in a room, Sweden reflected; looking at the Norwegian across the room. The two of them were completely alone. Sweden shifted in his seat. Normally silence didn't faze the Swede, but he felt, today, as though he should talk. What would he say though? Sorry we've grown apart? Sorry we never communicate anymore?
The two nations used to be the best of friends, doing everything together. The two of them had an uncanny ability to tell what the other was thinking with even the smallest change in facial expression. At points they were even more than just friends. Why was it so hard to be in the same room as Norway now? Sweden stared at Norway, thinking. Norway looked up from the book in his hands, catching Sweden's staring. The slighter male had a tendency to do that.
Sweden wides his eyes a little. Norway closed his book and beckoned the taller nation with his whole hand. Sweden's frowned deepened; he was confused. Norway gave a trace of smile and beckoned again. "Come over here."
Sweden walked over, obeying Norway's order. For the smallest moment he felt like it was in the Viking days again, were Norway was the leader and Sweden chose to follow him. He stood over Norway, with his angry-looking face turned down to look at his western neighbor.
Norway was not shaken by that look; he never had been, even when the two had first met. He stood, straight and proud, as always. If Norway stood that way on purpose, Sweden didn't know. He just knew that no matter what the situation, that was how Norway stood. Norway looked up at Sweden.
Then a rare thing happened. Norway hugged him. He pulled Sweden next to him, resting his chin on the taller man's shoulder, one arm around his waist, the other across his back. Sweden was surprised. In fact, for a moment, he stiffened. The he relaxed and wrapped his arms around him.
"Sve."
"Mm?"
Norway pulled back a little and stared at Sweden. His eyebrows were raised slightly and he was frowning slightly, clearly expecting something. Sweden, who had always been a little clueless when it came to romance just stared back. Seeing that dumb Swede wasn't getting the hint, Norway took matters into his hands.
He lightly kissed Sweden's lips. It wasn't anything special, and it was quick. The Nordics' lips were only touching for a second or two before Norway pulled away. "You're clueless, you know."
Sweden paused a moment before nodding "Ya, I know."
Norway chuckled slightly and shook his head. Somethings never changed, did they? Sweden smiled and swayed slightly, still hugging Norway.
"You're stupid," Norway grinned. Sweden knew that was meant to sweet, so he took it that way.
"HEY GUYS I RENTED THIS AWESOME MOVIE!" Denmark had to chose that moment to waltz in. The other two both gave him the finger, frowning.
