Stay Away

[SEEMEW would like to chat.]

Cul froze at the alert that lit up the corner of her screen. She flinched upon seeing the username and quickly exed out the box, silently watching it disintegrate. She turned her focus back to her computer screen, flinching when she heard the pulse that came with an alert. She looked to the corner once more.

[SEEMEW would like to chat.]

Cul stared at it for a moment, hovering her mouse on the box. She stared at it for the longest time, tempted to accept. Yes, she wanted to talk to Seeu. Yes, she missed her. Yes, Seeu had once been a very important part of her life. Yes, she might still be, just a little. But no, she wouldn't sink so low. She didn't need this. Seeu was an ex for a reason.

Cul sat back in her computer chair and grabbed her phone from beside her keyboard, clicking through her contacts until landing on the one she wanted. She waited for a moment. Did she really want to be a bother? Then she paused. What was the point of dating someone if you couldn't be a bother to them?

CUL: u there gakkun?

As she waited for a response, her eyes were drawn to the computer again. She was alerted that an email had been received. She opened it, expecting a message stating that something she'd ordered had been shipped, but she froze the moment she saw it. Sender: Seeu. Morbid curiosity drew her to open it. She felt her heart sink when she read another girl's name in the message. Lapis. Of course there was someone else. What did she expect? She didn't fully mind. She had Gakupo, after all. Still, it was annoying to have this back in her life for such a useless reason.

She typed a fast and irritated reply and sent it off. The pulse signalling her gaming chatroom's alert brought her attention to the corner of the screen.

[FISHLADY would like to chat.]

Cul accepted and rapidly sent a message.

FIREHEAD: i just did somthing stupid luka

FISHLADY: What did you do?

FIREHEAD: seeu messaged me. i hate myself. i responded. its gonna come back at me. why did i bother?

FISHLADY: Because there's always the small chance of hope and redemption for every event

FISHLADY: and we tend to act on it.

FISHLADY: I'm not saying to be a pessimist but before anything happens, I've learnt i need to step back.

FISHLADY: step back and look

Cul leant back in her chair and gazed at the screen. Luka had been there with her through a lot lately. Their situations were similar, after all. Luka had dealt with someone she'd had feelings for before all this had happened to Cul. She looked down at her phone to see that Gakupo had responded.

GAKKUN: Yeah. You okay sweetheart?

Cul closed her eyes and held her phone to her chest. No. It was alright. She'd survive. She didn't need this. She had Gakupo. She loved him, and he loved her. He'd given up his past for her, so she could do the same for him.

CUL: I love you. Please always remember that.

GAKKUN: :) I love you too

Cul paused and looked back to her screen, hearing the pulse of the chatroom. She didn't have anything new from Luka, so she quickly sent her a response, ignoring the alert in the corner until she'd responded. Then, she accepted the request in the corner.

[FIREHEAD is now chatting with SEEMEW.]

Cul quickly sent off one message before closing the chat, smiling and leaning back in her chair once it was sent. She texted her boyfriend to come meet her, pretending that nothing was wrong. Nothing was wrong, after all, if he was there.

FIREHEAD: i dont need you

Author's Note: Random drabble. I'll be coming back to writing once this semester, my final semester of high school, is done! Please review if you have the chance, though I know this is really rough. I just wanted everyone to know that I'm alive.
