Blaine walked down the corridors of Mckinley with a smile on his face. He and Kurt were finally on speaking terms! Despite the fact that his ex-boyfriend now had Paul Blaine was simply happy to hear Kurt's voice. They had agreed to attempt the 'friends' thing. He knew it was going to be very awkward at first, but he also knew that after what he'd done to Kurt he was lucky to have this opportunity. Blaine was grateful. Things were finally looking up.
Mimicking his thoughts Blaine looked up to read the banner that stretched across the hallway. He nearly fell over in shock.
"What do you think?" said Kitty, suddenly standing in front of him. "I think a Sadie Hawkins dance is just what this school needs."
"E-excuse me." Blaine stuttered.
He focussed on putting one foot in front of the other until he caught up with Sam. They were in English together first.
"Whoa dude are you okay? You look kind of pale."
Blaine made his way to his seat and collapsed into it.
"Have you heard about the dance?" he asked.
"Yeah, pretty cool huh?" Sam replied with a grin. Blaine put his head in his hands. "Okay, not so cool. What's wrong?"
"T-the last time I- I went to a Sadie Hawkins dance – I – " Sam was alarmed to hear his friend sobbing. " – I ended up in hospital."
"God I'm sorry. Do you want me to get Miss Pilsbury?"
Blaine wiped his eyes and drew his hands away from his face.
"No." he said quickly. "I'm fine."
Sam didn't look convinced but was unable to do anything as the English lesson had already started.
Blaine sighed. He was definitely not fine, but at least he knew that he could talk to Kurt.
