WARNING: BODIES IN MOTION SPOLIER...
A/N: This is my version of Catherine and Warrick's little situation. This is my first CSI fanfiction so the characters might be a little OOC. I don't have the exact quotes from the bodies in motion but I tried my best to remember what they said.
I hope you enjoy the story, Please tell me what you think of it. This is only my second fanfiction I have written that I have posted for other people to read so I am willing to hear any Constructive criticism.
Disclaimer: I don't own the show or the characters…unless you count the cardboard pieces with their faces on it that come with the board game…. I wish I owned Greg….
Life is to short
"Why is there a ring on your ring finger?"
I look up when I hear Catharine ask that question. I glance down at my left hand and smile before looking up at her again.
"Oh, that. I'm married" I say, still grinning. I watch her for a moment. Her eyes filled with tears, but she was trying to keep them from coming. I look back down at the dead body and make a mental note to talk to her when we get back to the lab. I start telling the other guys about my wedding.
David comes and looks at the body "she's been dead about four hours." He says.
"About as long as Warrick has been married" Catherine says. I look up at her, she still looks upset.
David takes the body and we all go back to the lab.
Later that night I find Catherine alone in a room. I walk inside and hope she will want to talk
"can we talk?" I ask her.
She looks up at me "so…you're married?" Tina is it?" She says.
I nod and the she says "Sounds like a great girl. Can't wait to meet her" I can tell she is not as happy as she seams. She starts telling me about the evidence she found at the scene. I really want to talk to her but I don't want to force her to talk so I just let it go and work on the case.
later me and Catherine are working on the case, trying to find out where the victim was and how she got to the scene.
I watch her and decided to try to talk to her again "Can we talk about this?" I say holding up my left hand.
She watches me for a moment and then says "sure"
"Nick's situation made me realize life…life is too short…" I tell her.
"Warrick, you are married…..it's a bit of a shock, but I'm really happy for you"
I sigh and glance down at the map we were working on, then look back up at her "it just seams that you're…not so happy for me." I say. Her eyes fill with tears that she is refusing to let fall. I start to regret saying that.
"Warrick…… the best part of a fantasy is the possibility that it might come true…and when that possibility disappears, it kind of… sucks." She says, tears were threatening to fall from her eyes and she wasn't making any effort to stop them.
I was lost for words. Somehow I knew this might be what was bothering her. The atmosphere in the room was very awkward. Both of us were standing in front of one another lost in our thoughts.
I should say something to her, but I really didn't know what. I didn't want to make this situation worse then it already was. I know we will both get over it eventually.
FIN
So, that's the end. I'm not writing another chapter, this was only meant to be that long. I know it was a pretty short but if I made it any longer I would be just going on and on about useless stuff that had no point to the story, witch would make it boring.
Anyways, I would really appreciate it if you told me what you though about it.
