This one's for ComicGavla again, he got me to write the sequel to "2.0 Loves Her". I said I'd put it up here so I am. Have fun.
Morning Kisses
"Mmm." Gali snuggled deeper into the warmth which surrounded her, especially prominent at her back. The light of the twin suns breached her eyelids, and she pulled the azure blanket over her eyes to block it out. Everything was so warm, so happy. The sorrow of her previous night had been eradicated by deep sleep and a faint memory flickered behind her eyelids, one of comfort and friendship. Somebody close to her had been kind, but their name escaped her at the moment.
Better sleep on it, She sleepily thought.
Gavla clone 2.0 cradled the precious sleeping Toa in his arms. Despite the stressful events of last night, he couldn't have been happier. He yawned, sitting upright in the bed. The twin suns were already up and he jolted, realizing how late in the morning it was. His movement awoke Gali, who had been dozing next to him.
"Gavla...?" She murmured, rubbing her eyes. "What time is it?"
"I think it's nearly noon..." Gavla replied. "Looks like we slept in a little too late." He chuckled, brushing his fingertips against Gali's Kaukau Nuva. Gali held his wrist.
"Not that I mind," She commented. "I have nothing to do today anyway." She shifted her hand so it traveled up Gavla's arm and smiled at him.
"Hey," Gali murmured. "Thanks for everything." She reached around to give him a hug. Gavla's eyes widened. Gali had hugged him before, of course, but this time it felt different after last night. Something more was there, a connection of some sort between him and her. He leaned his head on her shoulder. It was all he could do, even though his throat burned to scream I love you! and he wanted to hug her back. But it was in his nature to be aloof, even now he couldn't let his vulnerable emotions take hold. This inward conflict made him furrow his brow in frustration.
"What's wrong?" Gali chimed. "You're usually more talkative than this." She pat his back.
"It's nothing." Gavla mumbled. He buried his face in Gali's shoulder, hoping she wouldn't question further. She had been nice enough to let him sleep over after he escorted her home. I can't make her worry about me.He thought.
"It's definitely something." Gali whispered. "You can tell me." She looked down at the back of his head and smiled sweetly. Gavla frowned and turned his face away from Gali's neck.
"I can't." He murmured, fiddling with the blanket. "I just can't."
"Okay." Gali said. She continued to hold Gavla like that, to stroke his back. Last night was a turning point in their relationship that should have brought them much closer than they were right now. But Gali didn't realize that, and Gavla did, but in his fit of nervousness, couldn't bring himself to point it out to her, as much as he wanted to. These churning emotions felt weird inside them, so strange that Gavla felt as if he would throw up. He could even taste the bitter bile rising in his throat.
"It's okay if you don't want to say anything." Gali brushed her hand against Gavla's own, holding the sheet. "But, just let me say this." She lifted his face with her fingertips. Gavla closed his eyes, feelings he was unfamiliar with rushed through him. Was she going to kiss him? On the mouth? He secretly hoped so. He could even feel his lips tingle.
"I think I love you."
Gavla stared at her as she got out of bed and left to go get something to eat. He could feel where she had kissed him on the cheek as if there was a trail of spider silk connecting her lips to where she had lain them upon his face. He could feel her feelings towards him as well, a mutual love she was barely beginning to realize.
But it's a start, He thought with a smile.
The End
...Or at least until Gav gets me to write another of these things. :P
