I stepped out of the van, with Owen and Ianto. The murder scene was the normal. Same blood and guts, same police and ambulance's... and same girl. The girl was always there somehow. She didn't seem more then 18 years old. She was cute... this coming from a one hundred and sixty year old guy. I know what you thinking, *Man! He's old!* But i'm really not. You see, when I was 35, I went through a split in the universe, which led me to Torchwood. Torchwood explained to me that when the universe split, my ageing chromes were frozen in time. It basically means that I'm stuck looking like a 35 year old the rest of my life. I don't want any of that to change. I don't want to go back to my time. And I don't want to miss any of this.

Torchwood is a alien fighting league. We hunt down aliens in the twenty first century. My name's Jack Harkness i'm the leader of Torchwood. My co-workers include Tosh, the computer genius. Owen, the doctor. Ianto, the tea fetcher. And Gwen, the newest member of Torchwood. We all seem like family. We fight like family's do, we kill aliens like alien fighting family's do I guess, if they even exist, and we look out for each other like family's do.

"We'll need to take the body back to the...lab, for examining. That won't be a problem, will it?"

"Not at all Mr. Harkness, will you need any transport?"

"I think we'll be fine. Owen, Ianto."

I looked over my shoulder and noticed the girl starring at me from afar. She was a rather unusual girl. She always wore rock band shirts and wore these military boots. I started to walk over to her and she walked towards me.

"Why are you following me?"

She smirked and I noticed that smirk.

"I'm not. I just happen to be at the right place at the right...time."

She looked over my shoulder and stared at Ianto and Owen.

"Looks like you team misses you. Better hurry off, and if you want to talk some more, i'll be at the Wales cafe at midnight."

"Great. See you there."

She walked off and pointed her hand in the direction of the team. I turned around and walked towards them.

"You know I never want to know about your personal life, but wasn't that you one-night-stand, Layla?"

"Yea. It was."
