A/N: This is my first (and perhaps the last) Zaya fic that I've written to get in the mood for writing my Zaya fluff scene in Maya's POV of the Season 13 kiss for my Bromance of the Century [Champagne Supernova universe] quadruple-ship fic. Shout out to Team Zaya for figuring out how Miles could have known that Maya and Zig kissed. Now, the only Zaya fanfic that I've ever read was "Certain Situations" by Triles for Miles, so if another missing moment fic like this one exists, please know that this is entirely my version.

Zig was stunned when Maya's lips left his. He didn't see her kiss coming for a second. His gaze zoned in on her lips, hypnotized as she made her desperate plea to stay.

"Okay."

Okay, if it meant forgetting the problems that haunted him day in and day out. Okay, if it meant succumbing to his desires even if it might just be for one night. Okay, if it meant that there was going to be hell to pay as a consequence.

It would be worth it.

He was rewarded with another kiss. His pulse was beating at a mile a minute. These were Maya's hands holding the sides of his neck. Her lips moving in tandem with his. She fit perfectly in his arms and he didn't want to let go.

Taking control of the situation, he leaned down to effortlessly scoop her up off her feet. Maya gasped when she realized that she was being suspended in mid-air and tightly wrapped her arms around Zig's neck while he made his way to the window seat and set her down gently. She looked at him with wide eyes while he slipped off her glasses to place them aside and tenderly started to brush his lips over her eyelids.

This time Zig was the one to initiate the next kiss. He was thorough yet gentle and his hands settled on her waist. He began to rub her sides with his thumbs and when he heard Maya sigh he all but melted. He left her lips and started a soft trail of kisses from her cheek to her earlobe before dipping down to her neck. Ever so gently he peppered the area with sweet embraces and was rather satisfied with himself when he felt her arch to the side to give him more access.

But a nervous gasp made him jump back, fearing that he did something wrong. He was unable to meet Maya's eyes because they were fixed on something out the window.

He tried to go in for another kiss but she shyly declined, saying that her mother would be home soon and the last thing they needed was to see them act like more than friends. With one final, chaste kiss she excused herself and scurried out of the room.

Zig remained where he was, simply etching every detail in his mind so he could replay it in the future to his heart's content. Because his best subject was Maya Matlin and sometimes he simply knew her better than she knew herself. Obviously this stint will only run for a short period of time to keep him away from the gang until something more permanent came up. So he might as well make the most of it while he could.

But one day, she will be his. And when that dream would come true, he will do everything in his power to never let her go.
