Hello there people! So I've been listening obsessively to the song Bottom of the River by Delta Rae, as well as reading waaaay too many stories in which Snape is Harry's biological father, so I thought I'd try my hand at it. Now I had a friend read it and she says that people don't really write song fics like this anymore, which I didn't know. But I decided to post this anyway because she said it was good otherwise, but that's really for you to decide. Enjoy!

Hold my hand, oh baby it's a long way down to the bottom of the river

Hold my hand, oh baby it's a long way down, a long way down. . .

The soft sound of rustling robes cut through the accustomed noises of nature as Severus Snape slinked almost silently through the shadows. With the usual black of his attire along with the darkness of the trees, it was almost impossible to see him. It was late, and he found himself stifling a small yawn.

If you get sleep or if you get none (the cock's gonna call in the morning, baby)

The sharp scent of fresh water made itself known as the man crept closer to his target. A few moments later, he was right up on it, staring through the branches of a large oak tree, and he prayed that nobody had noticed his sneaking and followed him. He knew that this was a silly thought, but he couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching him.

The wolves will chase you by the pale moonlight (drunk and driven by a devil's hunger)

Sitting at the edge of the black lake was Harry Potter with the legs of his trousers rolled up to the knee, his back to the forest, moving his legs through the inky waters. His son. Snape's palms itched in anticipation as he stepped forward, his blood sizzling with the knowledge of what he was about to do.

Drive your son like a railroad spike (into the water let it pull him under)

"Potter." He said softly, smirking when the boy turned quickly around, obviously startled.

"Sir!" Harry exclaimed. "Don't do that; you almost gave me a heart attack." He scooted back around to face the water, his legs continuing in their senseless kicking.

"And what a shame that would be." Snape replied sarcastically. The boy shot him a glare over his shoulder. Snape came closer until he was directly behind Harry, lifting a hand and patting his hair with it. Harry stiffened at the unfamiliar gesture, but then leaned in to his hand. 'Idiot boy.' The older man thought idly.

Then, with such sudden motion that those passing by probably wouldn't have known what was happening, Snape pushed all his weight on the youth until he fell into the waters below. Careful to keep a firm grip on his now soaked black hair, the man held him just beneath the surface, aware of the pale arms that thrashed about and clawed at Snape's robes.

Don't you lift him, let him drown alive! (the good Lord speaks like a rolling thunder)

Let that fever make the water rise

Eventually Harry stopped his futile struggling, his arms having gone limp and were left floating at the surface. Snape pulled his arms away, staring down at the lifeless body of his only son sinking a few inches under the water, swaying in the current. He felt nothing; not that he'd expected himself to, and with a sharp pivot of his feet he walked away, blissfully alone in the world once more.

It's a long way down, a long way down. . .

So what did you think? I would really appreciate it if you would review and tell me!
