The Storm

AN: This rewrite revolves around the scene where Todd gets rid of the gun on Wednesday 8/31/2011.

Marty took a walk on the pier. It was raining, but she needed to clear her head. She had heard the news that the man she thought was Todd Manning was really his twin brother Victor. She thought about how she would feel to see Todd again after all these years.

Marty turned the corner and saw the man that always seemed to be on her mind. He was drenched and she wondered how long he had been out there. She saw him throw an object that looked like a gun into the Llanview river.

"Todd?" Marty called out.

"Marty, what are you doing here?" Todd asked as he turned around and saw the woman that haunted him.

"I came here to think. Was that a gun I saw in your hand?"

Todd thought about lying, but it was pointless. Marty was the one person that knew him better than anybody else. She had always seen through his lies so he may as well be straight with her. "Yeah, it was a gun."

"Why did you throw it in the river? What did you do?"

"I was planning on shooting Victor, but I couldn't go through with it. I got rid of the gun so I wouldn't be tempted to use it later."

"Why did you want to shoot Victor? He's your brother."

"He stole my life Marty. He stole Tea, Blair, Vicky and my kids and most of all he hurt you. He lied to you Marty, he took advantage of your amnesia and got you to sleep with him."

"You know about that?" Marty asked as she looked away in shame.

"Yeah, I know about that and the thought of him taking advantage of you makes me sick. I'm not going to kill him, but I swear Marty I will make him pay."

"I'm okay Todd, really I am. I was hurt at first but I got over it. He's your brother, you need to let it go and try to forgive him."

"I don't know if I can. I don't know if I want to."

"I got to get going, just think about what I said, okay?"

"I'll think about it, hey Marty?"

"Yeah Todd?"

"You know that I would never hurt you like he did, don't you?"

"Yeah, Todd, I know," Marty said as she left Todd standing in the rain.
