Character Sketch

Ishida

He was never known for being outgoing, with his dark hair and blue eyes hidden behind rectangular frames. People rarely knew of him, unless they idolized him in craft club. He was skilled with his hands, and could thread a needle with ease. Uryuu Ishida was, perhaps, a loner. Though he didn't mind.

He eats lunch alone, prefers it that way. He doesn't like the constant chatter of subjects he is uninterested in and whether this girl is hotter when he has only eyes for one. So he eats lunch quickly, and returns to an empty classroom he momentarily owns as he sews another masterpiece.

He studies for hours because it makes him feel accomplished. Ishida likes the feeling of a job well done, and his test scores reflect the much put-forth effort. He is competitive, though rarely shows this streak. He is a silent opponent, and prefers to be viewed as such.

It is only when Inoue-san sweetly asks Kurosaki to have lunch with her that Ishida must remind himself that he is the silent competitor and not to blow up over a simple lunch date. Ishida knows Inoue-san is kind, and does not try to appear too disappointed as they walk by him towards the grass.

Ishida stumbles to his isolated bench and pulls out a sandwich.

Orihime

She is kind because she appreciates how much a smile or hug can help her through a bad day. She knows true loneliness and cheerfully battles away the monsters that occasionally remind her of her lost brother. She keeps only the happy memories, and edits her mind accordingly.

She studies hard because it's a distraction with benefits. She loves her friends who encourage her to do well. She loves to make them proud. She would do anything for a smiling face, believes everyone else must feel the same and hands out smiles as if they were compensations for the world's many faults.

She creates with her food, making art out of mixing spices and sweets. She appreciates the stimulation each taste creates and how even the oddest combinations can be delicious. This is also her philosophy on friends.

She tries new things, real sports she could never hope to have a chance to play professionally. She likes the thrill of a challenge and throws herself into it, with a personal good luck cheer. The slim chance of winning is enough to motivate her to try.

When Kurosaki-kun arrives, she agrees the chance presents itself so clearly that she must try. She cannot believe her luck when he accepts her request and walks so closely by her that her heart jumps for joy with each quiet thump.
