A ROTG One shot where Tooth learns something interesting about her coworker. This is something I wrote a while ago that I recently found.

"Just hear me out North," Bunny said, jokingly waving his paint brush in his larger friends face. "A leash might not be such a bad idea." They were lounging in santoff clausen together, resting after a wild goose chase jack had sent them on when they realized what the young Guardian had stolen. Busy as ever, the other guardians had been dutifully working during a designated get together that was designed to relax the bustling bunch, and Jack was left to his own devices. The child was the guardian of fun, and apparently dangerous when bored. Somehow, the youngster had managed to swipe important items from the two taller guardians. He made off with a bewildered North's swords, and an irate Bunny's boomerang. They had chased jack all around the pole until he finally relinquished the items, revealing that they had been a confused Yeti's burden for the last hour.

North's chuckles still dying, Bunny glanced around the room, a question blooming in his mind. "Uh..where is the little frostbite?" Sandman shrugged, taking another sip of eggnog.

Toothina, in an act of kindness, took it upon herself to fetch Jack for the others. The colorful hybrid turned the corner into the kitchen to find Jack heavily engaged in a personal conversation. Not knowing she had arrived, he continued it as Toothina watched with shock. The spirit of winter didn't hesitate between changing voices, instead leaping quickly from a country accent to an educated, proper one.

"'That's the last time I go fishing with you!'

'You wound me! I thought we were inseparable!'

'I did to, till I found out what a dirty cheat at go fish you are.'

'Dont insult what your feeble mind calls cheating, I was simply fishing, no more.'

'Shut your city slicker trap! I know a cheat when I seen one!'"

Jack slammed his hand onto the ground, causing Tooth to jump at the the sudden smack. "'What in tarnation!'" He exclaimed, then he added a softer, apparent girl voice.

"'Oh my, I didn't mean to offend nobody, I was bringing in the hot towels and I couldn't help but over hear your bickering, and when I realized just what two grown men in the great state of Georgia could be arguing over I found myself at a loss. Why are ya'll playin' go fish of all games?'"

Jack paused for dramatic silence, as though the men where eyeing the girl, then dropped the sassy demeanor and went back to the uptight, prim and proper position for the city goer's voice. "'Now now, my dear friend, this young woman has asked us why we play gold fish, shall we explain?'

'Ya' damn right we shall!'

'Please misters, I wasn't meaning to offend nobody-'

'the woman seems to be keen on repeating herself...have a seat darling, I know I won't bite.'-"

As he continued the conversation, his quiet giggles grew and he was soon unable to continue with the voices. Toothina fluttered backwards as Jack fell onto his back, laughing and breathing heavily. He opened his eyes at the sound of her wings, and smiled up at her. "Hi tooth! You just missed the funniest thing!" The fairy said nothing, her words stuck in her throat. How many times had jack said that line to her, without her realizing that his 'overheard' conversations where in fact with himself.
