(Set while Aladdin and Judal are in Tahoe)
Sheba wasn't the type to sit around and do nothing. She never had been, especially not since meeting Solomon. Being sick all the time put a major damper on everything. Now that she was feeling better there were so many things she wanted to do, but Solomon kept saying she should take it easy. She didn't want to take it easy, she wanted to go do the million things she hadn't been able to while confined to bed rest.
Solomon was just being a little bit difficult. She could handle that. She had done it before, she could do it again. Besides, Aladdin was off playing with a friend so Solomon didn't have to worry about Sinbad overworking her for the time being. So the planning began. It shouldn't take much to get Solomon to go out with her.
"You've sitting at the computer all day. It isn't good for your eyes."
Solomon let out a little laugh. "Staring at me stare at a computer can't be that much better."
"I'd have to disagree with you."
"You tend to do that a lot. You should go rest. I don't want you to-"
"That's all you ever say to me anymore. 'Sheba, go rest some more so that you don't end up stuck in bed having to rest again.' I'm pretty sure that at this point I should be getting used to not resting. You went to the doctor's with me remember? I'm supposed to be rebuilding my strength."
"And you can't do that by overexerting yourself."
"You worry to much, all I do is sit and wait for you to stop being annoying and realize I'm not going to break."
"Sheba you-"
"Don't you dare 'Sheba' me. I have barely been out of the house in the last year and you won't go out with me now that I'm healthy. We never do anything together any more."
"I just don't want you to get sick again."
"I'm not going to get sick again. But I can't get any better then I am right now unless I start doing things. I need to see the sun and spend time with my family and my friends. I can't just stay in this big empty mansion all the time while you are at work."
When Solomon sighed Sheba knew she was getting her way. "Why don't we start with dinner?"
"Hmmm, dinner and a movie."
"Somehow I really never can deny you. Let me finish looking over this report and then we'll go."
Solomon smiled when he saw Sheba in the dress Aladdin had recently bought her. It was nice to see his wife in something other than hospital gowns.
They ate at her favorite Italian restaurant downtown. He laughed when her eyes lit up at the sight of the food as they had on their very first date. Funny, how some things never change. She ate just like Aladdin.
The movie she chose was a romantic comedy. For the first half hour she watched the movie intently. Solomon was fine for the first fifteen, maybe twenty minutes before he fell asleep. The jokes weren't that funny. Sheba caught him and climbed onto his lap. She had known he wouldn't find the movie funny. She curled up against him and waited for the movie to end. Solomon woke up just before the ending credits started rolling.
"You always fall asleep."
"You always pick movies that have the same jokes."
Sheba smiled at him. "You always work far into the night. At least this way you get some extra sleep and I get to spent time with you."
