Title: Till Death Do Us Part
Pairing(s): Ariadne/Dom & Mal/Dom
Summary: Short drabble on Ariadne's thoughts before she jumped, watching Dom say goodbye to Mal. Ariadne/Dom. Rated T for angst and light swearing. 312 words.
Rating/Warnings: T – just angst and some light swearing.
Timeline: During "Inception".
Disclaimer: I don't own, obviously! Inception belongs to Chris Nolan.
Author's Note: Just finished seeing the movie and had to write something about Dom and Ariadne. Probably not very good, definitely not my best piece, but hey, the world could use more of the angst I have to offer! :D No, not really. But I ship these two so hard I had to do something about it. Enjoy!

Ariadne would be lying if she said she didn't have a crush on Dom Cobb the second she laid eyes on him. He introduced her to a world she never in her wildest dreams would've thought possible. The world where dreaming truly felt like your reality; in a way, it was your reality. The world of inception.
And she knew things would never be the same for her. Not the way she perceived reality or her dreams. And not the way she felt about Cobb. Arthur had seemed like he would be a pleasant distraction, someone she could have, someone who wanted her back. But she lost hope of being happy with Arthur when she realized he could never match up to Dom.
She'd been frightened when she'd discovered his ex wife and what'd happened to her. She tried to convince Dom time and time again to let her go, trying hard not to let on how much his pain hurt her.
It was the final confrontation between Mal and Dom that crushed any hope of Ariadne being with him. She'd watched the way he looked at her, the way they spoke to each other… unconditional, unbreakable love. The kind of love you only experienced once in your lifetime.
Something they could never have together, Ariadne realized sadly. Something that could never be. Because Dom had had his lifetime and it was Mal whom he shared it with. He loved her, despite her unfortunate death and Ariadne could see that he would never be able to love someone as much as he'd loved the mother of his children.
But she wasn't angry. She didn't harbor any hatred towards the star-crossed lovers. All she felt was disappointment.
'Till death do us part, my ass.'
Not even death could separate them, really.
And that was when she let go, free falling into the unknown.

:-D Like I said, just a short drabble. Wasn't intended to be anything epic or life-changing. THE PLOT BUNNY WOULDN'T LEAVE ME ALONE! I really wanted to end it with a happy Dom/Ariadne, where they ended up together, but really, anyone who knows me and my writing knows that I'm not one for happy endings! Perhaps I'll write another (nicer) drabble sometime soon. Coz really, I ship Dom/Ariadne so hard it's not even funny. Don't like Arthur/Ariadne or Dom/Mal. Thanks for reading!
