Summary: "It's funny isn't it? That a Malfoy and a Weasley are friends." Just Scorpius Malfoy and Rose Weasley lying on the grass and talking about their friendship. May or may not be a made into a chaptered fic.
A/N: This is my first fic. Any errors are my fault. I own nothing.
"It's funny isn't it? That a Malfoy and a Weasley are friends."
"Yes." They chuckled lightly in unison.
"Mother told me all about our fathers' hate for each other."
"My mum told me all about it too."
"I'm sorry for my father's behaviour towards your parents back then. He wasn't the nicest person in the world."
There was a pause. Rose did not answer.
"He's change now, though. He's a good man, my father."
"I bet. He brought you up well. You're one of the nicest guys I know, Scorpius."
Scorpius looked at her for a while and smiled. She was still staring at the sky.
"Does he know? That we're best friends?" Rose asked.
"Yes. He knows. But we don't talk about it much. He's not actually the one to voice out his thoughts. And if he ever told me to stay away from you…"
A pause.
"Well?"
"I would never do it."
Rose smiled at him. Scorpius grinned back.
"How about your dad? He knows we're very close, right?"
"Oh, he knows, alright. He was furious about it; almost disowned me."
Rose laughed as she remembered how her father choked on his steak when she told him about her friendship with Draco Malfoy's son.
"But Mum talked sense into him. Told him she heard your father had changed already. But he wasn't at all fond of the thought of me hanging out with you. Said you were going to be a bad influence on me."
"Am I? A bad influence to you?"
"Hmmm." Rose paused and thought of what to say. "Well, considering that I'm here outside and not studying, I'd say that you, Malfoy, is a bad influence to me." Rose laughed.
"Oh, really? Scorpius rolled over Rose and tickled her. Rose squirmed beneath him. Scorpius was enjoying himself too much. And Rose was shrieking "Stop!" "Damnit Scorpius!" profusely.
Scorpius only halted when he saw that Rose was becoming purple from loss of breath.
"Ugh. I hate it when you do that. It's just annoying."
"Then I'll do it more often." said Scorpius with a grin from ear to ear. Rose rolled her eyes.
They stayed sprawled on the grass for a long time until the sun was almost down.
Rose sat upright.
"Come on, Scor!" She tugged on his robes. Scorpius sat straight.
"Dinner will be ready soon and then we'll study."
"What? No studying!"
"Whatever. You're doing as I say. Now, hurry!" Rose offered her hand to him.
Scorpius clasped his hands against Rose's and he let her drag him to the castle in a run.
He smiled to himself as he looked at the back of her red headed best friend; committing this moment to memory.
I hope this lasts forever.
