Hello everyone, I finally got some inspiration for a new story. I just finished watching Pitch Black and I have seen TCOR a couple of times. I'm going to try and not make this an ode to Vin Diesel, but give me a heads up if it is. By the way: I do not own anything that comes from PB or TCOR. Now that that is out of the way, we can get on with the fic.
Chapter 1
A sand storm raged on the seven man team of mercs as they ran through the sands. No body made eye contact as they went so when two men disappeared into the sand, it went unnoticed.
"Johnson, are you sure he's out here?" The leader called through his head set. When his only response was static, he turned around to find four of his men missing.
"Well that answers that question." He said.
"Hey, Boss, this storm is getting worse by the minute. Maybe we should get outta here." A voice crackled over the head set.
"No Caster, we need to catch this guy." Boss commanded. "Just because he used to be the leader of the Necromongers, doesn't mean he is exempt from the law. We take him in tonight." Just as Boss was turning around, he caught a glint on his right, and turned right around into a blade, held by a strong figure. He heard his men begin to scramble to help him, when they all screamed and their lines went dead.
"There were two things you could have done better. First," the figure said, twisting the blade deeper into Boss' gut. "You shouldn't have followed me out in this storm and two… You took the job. Now, who hired you?" The figure demanded, pulling another knife from his back.
"We're freelance man; we don't work for no one." Boss said, tasting the metallic blood pooling in his mouth. The figure grunted.
"Second question, where's your ship?" Boss coughed, and then laughed.
"No way your taki'n, my fuckin ship, Riddick." Boss choked. With his left hand, Riddick pulled back his hood, revealing a short brown hair cut and beard, surrounding black goggles.
"It's not your ship anymore." Riddick said, bringing his other blade across Boss' throat, and watching the waterfall of crimson that followed. He would just have to find the ship on his own.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Riddick guided the ship along the outer part of the solar system, an area called Quidlock. Riddick was very torn as he drove. For some reason, strange dreams had begun to come to him in his sleep. In them, a young woman pleaded with him to return to Furya. The lady claimed the children of Furya were in grave danger. Riddick had checked and found that Furya was the fifth planet in the solar system, but, Riddick would have to risk his freedom in order to save his planet.
A sudden shaking in the hull stirred Riddick from his thoughts. A hole had appeared in the hull of the ship, setting off all the emergency lights. Ridick would have to land now.
"Well that makes my decision a whole lot easier." Riddick growled as he grabbed the controls.
Hope you enjoyed the first chapter. Next is Furya, and that's where the fun begins. See you next chapter.
