Bright Idea
Harry lazed in bed, his hand absently playing with the red hair of the head on his chest. He'd been awake for a while. When the alarm beside him started blaring, he groaned but leant over to turn it off.
"Urgh, why have we got an alarm set on a Sunday morning?" the redhead grumbled.
"I'm taking Teddy to the zoo today."
"Oh... So I can go back to sleep?"
"I was hoping you'd like to come with us, actually?"
"Really?"
"Really, really."
"Um... Okay. Like... a date?"
Harry pressed a gentle kiss to slightly chapped lips. "Not like a date. A definite date. Get up and get ready, we've gotta pick an excitable five year old up."
"Uncle Harry, Uncle Harry, what's that?"
Harry looked through the glass to see the small animal Teddy was pointing at.
"That's a sable, Teddy."
"It's so cute, Uncle Harry! Can I have one?"
Harry glared at Ron when he laughed.
"They aren't pets, Teddy. When you get a bit older, we'll look at getting you a dog, okay?"
Bottom lip quivering, Teddy looked up at Harry with tears welling in his eyes. "But I want a Sable!"
Chin dropping to his chest, Harry bent down to pick his godson up before a full scale tantrum started. Before he could say anything though, Ron was beside him with a bright smile on his face.
"I've got an idea, Ted! How about we go get some ice cream, and later, Uncle Harry will magic you up a teddy Sable to sleep with?"
Giggling with delight, Teddy agreed immediately. Harry rolled his eyes, but nodded his agreement, putting Teddy back down. With a fond smile, he watched his godson take his boyfriend's hand as he followed the two of them to the nearest ice cream stand.
Teddy finally safe and sound in bed, Harry flopped down on the sofa beside Ron.
"Next time you get a bright idea, I'm leaving you to deal with it," he muttered.
"Why? What did I do?"
"Teddy had me conjure eight sable's before he was finally satisfied that he had one exactly like the one in the zoo," Harry replied, rolling his eyes.
Ron grinned, but turned to face Harry, brushing their lips together. "I'm sorry. Let me make it up to you."
Their kisses firmer, Ron moved so he was straddling Harry, his hands caressing black hair.
"Um... Uncle Ron... Why are you sitting on Uncle Harry's knee?"
