Eternity – Prompt # 17 - Complicated
Eternity wasn't all it was cracked up to be, according to Ash Redfern. No matter how many times Mary-Lynette tried to get him to change her, or to open up and tell her why he was so reluctant to so that she could understand, he would fall silent.
"It's way more complicated than just a single bite to your throat, Mare. You're not ready."
She sighed as he kissed her eyelids closed and tightened her hold on his hand even as he moved away.
I want to, she told him. I am ready, Ash.
He merely looked at her with the same sad look he wore around her now and shook his head.
Not yet, was all he said as he drew her back into his arms again.
