My first attempt in IkariShipping, hope you enjoy! And please, no flames, but I shall accept one's helpful criticism.
Dawn woke up very early. It was about 6 am, and it was a very special day. It was her birthday. She stretched, and got ready. Dawn walked out of her tent and saw that Brock was already awake, and making breakfast. Brock noticed Dawn and decided to greet her. "Hey, Dawn!"
Dawn turned to him. "Hey Brock! Isn't today a wonderful day?" Brock was used to Dawn's peppy nature, and smiled. "Today is a lovely day! The sun's out already."
"Yeah..." Dawn was wondering why Brock hadn't said 'Happy Birthday' yet. "Aren't you forgetting something, Brock?" His eyes widened. "Oh, yeah! I forgot to add the pepper! Thank you, Dawn!"
Dawn was hurt. One of her best friends, forgot her birthday. "You're welcome." Dawn walked to Ash's tent, and noticed that he was gone. "If you're wondering where Ash is, he dashed out, right before you came here. Said something about training." Brock said.
"Thanks!" Dawn looked around, and saw Ash training Pikachu. "Hey, Ash!"
He turned around. "Oh, hey, Dawn." He continued his training. "Aren't you forgetting something, Ash?" Dawn asked, in hope that Ash would remember her birthday. "Oh! I forgot! Pikachu! We haven't practiced that new move yet! Thanks Dawn!" They continued their training.
Dawn sighed. She walked away, to the forest. "It seems like they had forgotten..." She whispered quietly to herself. "Forget what?" A voice asked. She looked up. It was Paul.
"Paul? What are you doing here?" Dawn asked. He grunted. "You walked into me, and didn't even notice. How troublesome." He smirked. Dawn, however, started to cry. "Yes! I am troublesome! It seems like everyone had forgotten!"
Paul took a step back. 'Shit! I've never been in a situation like this!'
He bent over, and wiped away her tears. Dawn was surprised. She looked up at him, and saw his eyes. They were full of comfort, and forgiveness, not his cold look. He patted her on the back. She stopped crying.
"Why did you help me?" Dawn asked. "Tch. I don't like seeing you cry." Paul looked away, and Dawn blushed. "Come on, let's get you back to your campsite, with your idiotic friends." He helped her up, and they started walking.
Dawn was still sad that her friends forgot her birthday, but was happy that Paul comforted her.
They both arrived at the campsite. Ash and Brock walked up to Paul and Dawn. "Hey, Dawn! Breakfast is almost ready, come and sit down. You too, Paul." Brock said, gesturing to the table with food.
Paul looked at Dawn, then to the table. "No, I want to train." He turned around, and took one step. But, he turned back around, and looked at Dawn. She tilted her head in confusion. "What?"
He smirked and grabbed her wrist. Dawn felt something warm on her lips. PAUL WAS KISSING HER! He broke the kiss, and looked at her. She was all red, from embarrassment. Brock and Ash had their jaws on the ground. "Happy Birthday, Dawn." He patted her on the head, and walked away.
Brock came up to her. "Today was you're birthday?" He paused. "Oh Yeah!" He facepalmed. "Sorry, Dawn."
Ash also facepalmed, and also said happy birthday. Brock nudged her. "So, you're going out with Paul?''
Dawn turned red. "No, of course not!"
"Then why did he kiss you?"
"Because today is my birthday!" She pouted, and scurried back to her tent.
