Heart Of Ice

It was a reminder of that beautiful time. A precious stone which held so much value not only in wealth but also in sentiment. The sapphire heart which had lain between her creamy breasts on a certain April evening.

The blue stone was as beautiful as his eyes, the sparkle which took her breath away. The blue eyes which had stolen her heart, set her on fire and shown her how to live freely.

The hands of a boy she loved so dearly, so rough to touch but made her heart soar. Pieces of a memory came together to create something which she had tried to forget. She held the Heart of the Ocean in her palm. Those bittersweet memories filled her head.

Once she had wished to forget, some she could forget and some she never would. She held in her hand a diamond worth millions and yet she slept rough and ate very little.

Selling the item had crossed her mind but then it would lead her back to her old life, the one she had fought so hard to cut ties from. The diamond had also been touched by Jack, the same night he had touched her so gently and shown her what true love really was.

A teardrop fell onto the diamond, with one last look she tucked it away from where it came from. She didn't need the money nor did she need the memories which the stone held. She had locked them all away safely in her memory. Her life would resume, her heart still carrying the burden it always would…

It would be another eighty four years before she removed the diamond from where she tucked it away, the place she had kept it for all these years. No one suspected a thing, not even her husband. She had learned to love again; her heart had melted as she had held her children for the first time and then her grandchildren. She had built a new life for herself, the one her Jack wanted her to have.
