Chapter one

There are many things in life that aren't clear. Like love. Whoever really knows when it will happen? It always seems to show up in the most unexpected places. Places you would never look, then it pops up in your face. Half the time it was right under your nose.

If it ever happen to me, she always though, I'd screw it up. She never thought it would "pop" up in her face; especially with a stranger. She wasn't the most social person. Boy was she off!

"Amelia Marie Martin, get you sweet patootie outta bed!" She groaned, awakening from her frozen slumber. It felt like it had been week before she went to sleep. She tossed the covers over her head and rolled over. "You heard me, hop to it!"

This annoying Roster-call was what woke her every morning. And every time it interrupted her favorite and only dream…

She was being playfully chased toward a hill, weaving in and out of trees in some unknown forest. She was always interrupted before she could see the persons face or what would happen next.

"Come on, hup-to hup-to! Hey! She thought, am I that bad that I have to solider-march to wake up?!

This was ninety percent of the reason she woke up pissed every morning. "Hey ma, do ya mind? I'm not two anymore! Sweet patootie doesn't make me laugh no more!"

"Speak for yourself!" This call rang out from Stanley, her kid brother and the bane for her existence.
