Just a little (very little) one-shot I had running through my mind, enjoy.
Disclaimer: Not mine
They stood on the edge of the Northern Crater, preparing for the final battle. There was a final check of weapons, material and items as each member of AVALANCHE knew that the smallest detail could be the difference between victory and defeat. The checks were made in silence, the time for motivational speeches was over, and a sense of determination and despair had settled over each warrior. Vincent stood at the back of the group, securing the summon materia for bahamut in his armlet. Once it was in place he sighed softly and looked around to the rest of the group. It seemed that they had all run out of things to look over as well and now there was nothing left to put off their descent. Cloud stood in the front, on the edge, a look of fierce determination on his face, one that was mirrored in the expressions of everyone else, with varying degrees of fear anyway.
"Everyone ready?" Clouds voice rose from the darkness, as much a command as an apology. An apology that it was likely that most of them would not survive this. There was a spattering of murmurs and nods as the group slowly moved forward. Casting glances at each other, farewells. Red XIII brushed against Yuffie's leg before trotting forward to do the same to Tifa and Barret placed his hand briefly on Cid's shoulder, nodding to them. Vincent began to move forward, he had stayed towards the back to avoid such interactions, when he was suddenly struck by a small force jumping into his arms. Before he could react he felt a pair of chapped lips meet his own roughly yet not gracelessly. He pulled back roughly as Yuffie hopped backwards, smiling cheekily.
"Yuffie--" Vincent started with an edge of annoyance to his voice.
"Ah, Vincent, don't get all stuffy." She waved a hand at him "Just something I felt like doing. Big battle and all, no point in not having a little fun, you know?" She winked at him and spun around as he continued to look at her.
"Yuffie" He started again, but she cut him off once more.
"Oh come on, Vinnie, no need to make a big deal out of it. Now come on, it's not like I did it for a reason." She grinned again and ran off to catch up to the group making a point to wave her armguard at him. A flash of color near her wrist caught his eye, a bahamut summon; his bahamut summon. Growling slightly he looked down to where he had placed the summon earlier but instead of am empty space he saw the smooth red surface of the phoenix summon in its place. He sighed, his anger gone, and continued into the crater; he supposed she could be forgiven. Just this once anyway.
Hope you liked it!;) (P.S. I love reviews ;) I know it's short but I'm sure you have some feedback)
