Xander tuned out the old wizard blathering on about age-reduction potions and blood protection spells, and gave all his attention to the small child in front of him. Wide green eyes stared solemnly back at him through too-big glasses.
How come nobody had ever told him that he had family in England? This was his cousin apparently, and their mothers were sisters. Where the hell did this kid live before he took the potion? He'd ask, but the kooky old man seemed to be on a role, and Xander didn't want to interrupt.
Poor kid looked terrified. Xander crouched down to his level and smiled gently, and got a tentative one in return. "Hi Harry, I'm your cousin Xander. Do you want to come live with me?"
