Izaya stumbled as a stop sign nearly missed hitting his right arm. Shizuo had been chasing him around Ikebukuro all day, and Izaya was getting a little bored. Izaya sighed as he jumped onto the top of a car. Putting both his hands up in the air Izaya made an astonishing announcement.
"Shizu-chan, I surrender." Izaya pouted down at Shizuo.
Shizuo released the yield sign he was about to uproot from the ground and looked puzzled up at the informant.
"What do you mean you surrender, flea?" Shizuo growled not believing the man who had been making his life hell since high school. He wasn't about to let his guard down. He reached for the sign again just in case Izaya tried anything.
"I mean you win, I give up this time." He sighed "I thought you would at least be smart enough to know what surrender means." Izaya purred out at Shizuo. "So go ahead, you always said you wanted to kill me, Shizu-Chan." The informant smirked down at his rival. Wondering what Shizuo would do in a situation like this. He had no idea if the former bartender would actually kill him or not. But he was strangely excited to find out, even though he could possibly be killed.
Shizuo wasn't sure what to do; of course he wanted to kill Izaya, if Izaya was gone he could finally live his own damn life, but for some reason he just froze. He just couldn't decide on what to do. The bastard who had been ruining his was giving him the chance to kill him, and he couldn't. Shizuo stared up at Izaya. He started to feel flustered and felt heat rising to his cheeks. Why couldn't he kill him? Why was he so conflicted?
"U-um." Shizuo stuttered as he just stood there. "I – um…"
Izaya sneered at Shizuo's reaction; he was not expecting him to get embarrassed. "What's wrong Shizu-Chan? Can't do it?"
Shizuo looked up at Izaya and finally came to an answer, even though it seemed odd.
"I don't want to." Shizuo admitted.
"Huh?" Izaya was taken aback.
"I-I don't want to kill you…" Shizuo repeated, getting even more flustered
Izaya wasn't sure how to respond, he figured Shizuo would at least try to kill him. But this was an outcome he didn't even think of. He looked down at Shizuo and how he was blushing. Why was he so embarrassed? What was he thinking? Izaya felt heat rush to his face as he thought it over.
They both stood there for a while awkwardly avoiding eye contact. It seemed like hours before Izaya finally had enough of it.
"Well whatever! I'm going home." He tried to act causal as he left but ended up rushing out.
Shizuo watched him leave before he turned and headed the opposite direction towards his apartment. He was still confused about what had just happened between him and the flea. He wasn't sure what to make of it so he just shook it off and tried to forget it. But he couldn't get rid of the damn blush that was stuck to his face.
It had definitely been an awkward day for the two strongest men of Ikebukuro.
