Love. It was something you would do anything or be anything for. Caroline was his everything but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get her to see the real him. He wanted her to see Nik the broken man behind his Original Hybrid bad-ass Klaus facade. So desperate times calls for desperate measures. The only thing he could think of was sending her back in time to when he was human so she could see his humanity, see behind the monster. She asked for him to show her his humanity that night when he was trapped in the Gilberts home. He had found a witch in New Orleans that was willing to help him if he promised to help defeat Marcel. It took a bit of persuading but he would do anything to make Caroline his Queen and have her rule by his side. Love was a vampires greatest weakness but he didn't care anymore her had fallen for her, and he had fallen hard. His enemies may come after her but he would always be there to protect her. He couldn't let anything happen to her because a life without her light was something he had experienced before and he never wanted to go back to that. The spell had to work because he knew what darkness was like and it wasn't fun to be submerged in. They had become friends but that wasn't enough he had to have all of her heart, body, mind, and soul. She had broken up with his pathetic excuse of a hybrid, Tyler, because she found out that he had cheated on her while he was gone in the Appalachians with the were-slut, as she liked to call her, Hayley. And if that wasn't bad enough Hayley had become pregnant. It had broken Caroline and he had been there to comfort her and help but her back together. But all she saw was a friend in him because as she told him one night before, she feared getting into a relationship with him because she was afraid that his feelings were not genuine but that were nothing short of it. She thought he had just enjoyed the chase but that was completely false. If he knew himself he knew that his human self would love Caroline just as he did now, or maybe even more if that was possible. Humanity would be the key to her heart and his human self would show her that he could just as human as her. The murmuring of the witch broke him from his thoughts. She started to chant in the dead language and the flames surrounding them roared just like the fire that Caroline held. Just as quickly as the she started she stopped, and spoke.

"It is done."
