Ice Cream and Gossip
By: Daystar-chan
Taichi merely sighed. Why did girls - Mimi especially - always have to sound like they knew what they were talking about? (Michi, implied OCHikari)

"-- and so now, Hikari's mad at me because I tried to have one of those 'older brother' talks with her date," he whimpered, slouching in his seat. "I hate it when she gets mad. She's always so quiet and she gives me those looks like she wishes she could throw things at me."
"Have you tried apologizing to her?"
Taichi shifted uneasily. "Well... she hasn't really given me a chance to..."
"Which means you haven't tried hard enough," Mimi said, giggling. "You forget that I've known you for years now, Taichi, and you're horrible at apologizing."
He pouted and stirred his half-melted ice cream around in the bowl. "It's not my fault that people don't believe me when I try to. Yamato usually rolls his eyes at me, and Sora just lets it go in one ear and out the other usually."
"Perhaps, but this is your sister. She values your opinions more than you realize."
"Then why does she get mad at me when I give her my opinion?"
"It's more of the way you say it. She probably feels you're trying to control the way she does things."
"You've talked to her recently, haven't you?" Taichi asked, cocking his head.
"This morning." Mimi's eyes were sparkling. "But that's beside the point. Just sit down and talk with her sometime. You'd be surprised on what she has to say."
In the silence that followed her statement, she reached over and stole a spoonful of his ice cream. She wasn't sure when she had become so bold, but she supposed it had something to do with dating the brash brunette sitting across from her; she certainly wouldn't have dreamt of ever doing that to anyone else she knew.
Taichi merely sighed. Why did girls - Mimi especially - always have to sound like they knew what they were talking about?
