Zeki

On a cold and snowy day, Yuki was sitting in her room.

"Zero…should I go and find him?" she thought as she rocked backed and forth on her bed, her hands holding her knees together.

"I cannot avoid this forever." She was still thinking when a knock on the door interrupted her train of thoughts and made her jump.

"Come in." She called. But Kaname had already entered the room.

"I came to bid you good night. I also wanted to pass you these," He handed her a pair of gloves, "It will be cold outside."

After saying goodnight, Kaname gently kissed her forehead and went out, closing the door behind him.

Yuki sighed. Kaname was making her feel guilty. Nevertheless, she changed into something warmer and boosted herself out of the window, looking at the bright silver moon. "I am finally going to see Zero. I wonder how he has been doing…"

With that, she disappeared into the night.

Finally, Yuki reached Cross Academy's gates. It was locked. She easily climbed in.

But she felt like a stranger, an intruder that did not belong. -Why? Didn't she lived here for ten whole years?- (1)

Shaking off the horrible thoughts, she walked in, looking more confident than she actually felt.

She went to his room.

He wasn't there.

She went up to the top of the highest building in the academy where they used to "hang out".

He wasn't there either.

With a sigh, she decided to find her father instead.

Cross Kaien looked up as someone opened the door.

"YUKI!!!" he cried, rushing up to her and hugging her tightly.

"Hello, father. I missed you." Yuki said in reply.

Hearing this, the chairman got so excited that Yuki had to literally knock some sense into him.

"Where's Zero? I missed him so much." Yuki finally managed to ask.

At that, the chairman became quiet. There was an awkward silence.

"He's gone." The chairman said ruefully.

"What happened?" Yuki questioned, in a state of panic. - did he…- she didn't want o know, but at the same time, she did.

The chairman started explaining to her about the recent events.

"He shot himself… he would not survive until the next day." The chairman said sadly, ending his explanation.

Yuki stood up. She decided to see Zero once more.

~ HOSPITAL ~

"Yuki..?" Zero whispered, wincing as he straightened for a better look at the familiar face that was right in front of him.

"Zero!!!... How could you! Selfish idiot!" Yuki jumped at Zero and hugged him, tears flowing freely.

"Sorry… continue your life without me…goodbye Yuki." Zero whispered softly into her ear, and gently kissed her on the lips for a brief moment.

Just then, Zero turned into dust.(2) Yuki gasped as she realized what had just happened. No…NO…NO!!!

The silence was louder than any shriek or shout. Yuki collapsed onto the cold, hard floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

After what seemed like years, Yuki got up, dried her tears and whispered softly, "Goodbye Zero." Then she walked away, not wanting to think about what her world had revolved around, Zero.

(1)She lived in the school for ten years right?

(2) that happened to shizuka..?
