~Keep in mind, this is just the beginning, and I don't know if I want to write more yet or not... Let me know PLEASE!~

It was a warm Summer day, and I could hear the soothing rush of the ocean as I laid on the sand. I could hear my aunt and uncle next to me mutter something about going somewhere. They couldn't decide. I sighed, and rolled onto my stomach. I could hear them get up and walk off. I didn't know how long they'd be gone, so I tried to doze off. I was only half asleep when I decided it wasn't going to happen. I was also hot, so I stood up and slide my shorts off and slowly walked to the water. It was days like these that made you happy you were alive. The day was perfect. My hair was sticky with sweat, so I dove under a wave or to, and felt refreshed when I surfaced, tasting the slight bite of salt on my lips. I pulled my long, dark hair back, simultaneously getting rid of all the excess water weighing it down. I could hear the seagulls cry above me, and dove under another wave. I could feel the push and pull of the waves as I stood there for a second more with the hot sun beating down on me in the cool water. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a figure on the pier leaning on the rail. I didn't bother spending to much time dwelling on this, or look to closely, figuring it was just another person trying to get away from the mad rush of the city. I closed my eyes, and allowed myself to float in the water. It felt nice not to care about anything. I could feel the spray of a wave somewhere behind me as it crashed into the water. I knew if I didn't stand up soon, I would probably end up the same way as the water underneath the wave. I could feel the sea pull back as it got ready to form yet another wave. I decided to ride it back to shore and dry off. I didn't bother pulling my shorts back on, knowing they'd only get wet, and it wouldn't be comfortable. I absent mindedly glanced up at the figure again, just now realizing I could see who it was, and that I knew him.

"Max, " I whispered to myself.

I quickly slide my shorts on and started walking towards the board walk, never taking my eyes off him. I could see him stand up when he realized I was walking towards him. Finally, I was standing under him looking up, and he was looking down.

"Hey," he said quietly.
"Hey," I replied, just as quietly, and started making my way down the side of the pier, so I could stand level with him.
"Hey," he said again.
"Hey," I replied once more.
